AT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE TV LICENCE AND iPLAYER
    WHO NEEDS A TV LICENCE?
Anyone watching or recording TV programmes on any channel as they are being broadcast. Whatever device you use to watch programmes – a TV set, computer, laptop or mobile phone – you must pay the £145.50 licence fee. Over-75s are entitled to a free licence. Anyone without a valid licence risks prosecution and a fine of up to £1,000.
WHAT CAN YOU WATCH WITHOUT ONE?
Programmes on the iPlayer, the BBC’s catch-up service, provided you view them after they have been broadcast. Those using the iPlayer’s Watch Live function, which broadcasts eight channels at virtually the same time as on TV, will need a licence.
HOW MANY ARE VIEWING ONLINE TO DOGE LICENCE FEE?
The BBC won’t reveal how much revenue it is losing because people watch online but it is likely to be well into the millions. Three per cent of people don’t pay a licence fee, equal to a million households, but it’s unclear how many of them are using iPlayer.
HOW CAN BBC TELL WHO WATCHES LIVE OR CATCH-TV?
It can't. It relies on honesty. Anyone not paying a licence fee has to submit a declaration that they are not watching or recording live broadcasts. Licence enforcers can make house visits to check and if your explanation is accepted, they put your account on ‘hold’ for two years, before investigating again.
COULD NON-FEE PAYERS BE CHARGED FOR iPLAYER?
Possibly, but it would be complicated. The BBC could introduce a system similar to Sky, under which customers cannot watch any programmes on TV sets, laptops, or mobile devices without an ID code. However, this would involve an enormous amount of bureaucracy. Equally, the BBC could not charge all viewers to watch iPlayer, because existing licence holders would end up paying twice for the same service.
HOW MUCH IS LIVE ON iPLAYER
The only ‘live’ programmes on iPlayer are the eight BBC channels screened on the Watch Live section, for which you still need a licence. Most other programmes are available on catch-up.

I'm about to take part in the Great Bradford Run. It's not an official race, I just stand in the city centre & shout "Allah is a Tosser" & then off we go....

A government survey has shown that 91% of illegal immigrants come to Britain so that they can see their own doctor.

I've just fitted strobe lights in the bedroom, It makes the wife look like she's moving during sex.

Two Thai girls asked me if I'd like to go bed with them, they said it would be just like winning the lottery! I agreed, and they were right. We all stripped off and to my horror, we had six matching balls!

A Muslim has died whilst training to be a Skydiver. The "British National Party school of diving" said they had no idea why his snorkel and flippers did not open.

Such an unfair world:- When a man talks dirty to a woman its considered sexual harassment.
When a woman talks dirty to a man its £2.50/min (charges may vary).

Just booked a table for Valentines Day for me and the wife. Bound to end in tears though; she's crap at snooker.

Got a new Jack Russell pup today, he's mainly black and brown with just a small white area. I've called him Bradford.

If you get an email telling you that you can catch Swine Flu from tins of ham then delete it. It's Spam.

They say that sex is the best form of exercise. Correct me if I'm wrong but I don't think 2 minutes and 15 seconds every 3 months is going to shift this beer belly.

now on, the tax will rise in line with inflation.

There is one way to avoid air passenger duty.

You can take a flight out of Northern Ireland, which, since January this year, has had no duty on long-haul flights. Flights to and from Britain still carry the duty at the lower rate. It follows a UK government decision to devolve the issue to Northern Ireland.

Well after chasing Banks etc and regulators/MPs etc in the past few years, Letter from HSBC change to our Terms & Conditions:- D.D/S.Os etc pay out on a certain day if no funds to pay then they will do a further check in the afternoon to see if sufficient (cleared) funds are available at that stage of the day i.e. by 3.30 p.m.

Anybody followed me on this subject the last few years would know I was trying to get Banks to stop debit at 00.01A.M. on a day to pay Direct debits before credits to accounts etc and ignoring credits to account on that day even at the openig time of the Bank, all the reply received eventually was tell the counter assistant that deposits were for that days transactions (Debits) no firm answer. (Told not a guarantee).

so a step in the right direction here.

Also where Debit Card recurring payment being changed so that you can cancel these with Bank OR retailer.

    Published 22 March 2013 | Standard notes SN04141
    Authors: Jacqueline Beard, Alexander Horne
    Topic: Small claims:-

The financial limit for the small claims track is currently generally £5,000 (increasing to £10,000 from April 2013) but lower limits apply to personal injury claims and housing disrepair claims.

In February 2012, following a consultation, the Government decided to increase the general small claims track limit, initially to £10,000 with the aim to further increase it to £15,000 in the future after full evaluation of the increase to £10,000. The general small claims track threshold is due to increase to £10,000 from April 2013.

Although in its February 2012 consultation the Government had said there would be no change to the current limit for personal injury and housing disrepair claims, in December 2012 the Ministry of Justice opened a consultation on proposals to increase the limit for road traffic accident personal injury (RTA PI) small claims to £5,000.

Also in February 2012, following a separate consultation, the Government decided to increase the financial limit of the low value RTA PI scheme which currently deals with claims valued at between £1,000 and £10,000 to £25,000 and introduce similar schemes for other kinds of claims following further consultation.

For information about the ban on referral fees in personal injury cases which is due to come into force in April 2013 please see the separate standard note Referral fees in personal injury claims (SN/HA/6016).

Last month, , a world-wide telephone survey was conducted by the UN. The only
    question asked was:-

"Would you please give your honest opinion about possible solutions to the
food shortage in the rest of the world?"

The survey was a complete failure because:

In Eastern Europe they didn't know what "honest" meant.

In Western Europe they didn't know what "shortage" meant.
In Africa they didn't know what "food" meant.

In China they didn't know what "opinion" meant.

In the Middle East they didn't know what "solution" meant.

In South America they didn't know what "please" meant.

In the USA they didn't know what "the rest of the world" meant.

And in Britain everyone hung up as soon as they heard the Indian accent.

    Fron Credit to-day:

New EU rules on data protection could cost businesses across the EU an estimated €5 billion (£4.3 billion), the Credit Services Association (CSA) has estimated.

The Albrecht Report, which was issued by German politician and European parliament member Jan Philipp Albrecht, has proposed a ban on customer profiling as part of revisions to the EU Data Protection Regulations.

But the CSA argued that despite its efforts to protect the personal data of consumers, the report’s recommendations will leave individuals “worse off”.

It also suggested that the removal of customer profiling would fly in the face of “Treating Customers Fairly” rules.

The association, which represents the UK collections market, said that restricting the use of data and giving consumers “the right to be forgotten” will make it more difficult for them to access credit and for creditors to collect what they are owed.

Peter Wallwork, chief executive of the CSA, said: “If you restrict the amount of verified and reliable data available, you expose consumers to the risk of taking on too much credit and ultimately falling into debt.

“On the other side of the coin, a consumer who chooses to have the ‘right to be forgotten’ because, for example, they do not want to be contacted after visiting a particular website, may find that their request counts against them when they apply for credit as no information is held about them.”

It also warned that the cost of implementing the new directive may force many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) into insolvency.

Wallwork added: “Based on the UK Ministry of Justice risk assessment, we estimate the cost to business across all 27 EU states will be around €5 billion – double the EU’s projected savings – much of which will be borne by SMEs at a time when economic recovery is fragile, at best.

“Smaller businesses will simply not be able to absorb these costs, and many, as a result, will be pushed to the brink.”
