I am a mortgage broker and received an e mail from my local BDM yesterday relating to changes, or "streamlining their mortgage process". As a result the following application types will no longer be available through Nationwide: First point was if you had a foreign residential address in the last 3 years. second was as follows: "Clients who have had a British Forces Post Office (BFPO) address in the last 3 years"

Nationwide Building Society now discriminates against members of our armed forces.

I have today received an e mail from the regional manager stating that if clients have had a BFPO (British Forces Post Office) address in the last 3 years they will not be a suitable applicant. This means that anyone who has been fighting in Afghanistan for example would be discriminated against.

A sector of society where people struggle to get on the housing ladder is the military where the need for advice is crucial to guide them through the numerous possibilities and problems they will face.

British military personnel are engaged all over the world from Afghanistan to Cyprus, meaning they often have no fixed address. When on duty all military personnel are assigned a British Forces Post Office number where they can receive post. As this number is not a proper address it does not appear on a credit search so all military would fail credit checks and be refused a mortgage.

If you think this is disgusting behaviour. Please do feel free to share.
Perhaps a move of our savings may assist in the NATIONWIDE BS in having a rethink of this deplorable treatment of our armed services.

Here is what is happening in the latest credit card news. In a very shrewd move that no one saw coming several banks have opted out of joint accounts. They will no longer accept joint account credit card applications from new applicants.

Sources reports that banks like Chase, Capital One, and HSBC decided the move was necessary in order to streamline their banking operation. New applicants cannot open joint accounts, but they can add a spouse or other relative as an authorized buyer. People with existing joint accounts are not affected by this new move.

Subject: Bankruptcy case already notified - seems a CAB issue raised on deaf ears?

In both instances, it is the IP fees which are so disproportionate and cruel. CAB were very aware of the problem and produced a great consultation response in 2012; but they told me there is no will within government to address the issue at all sadly. Seemingly Debt is viewed with little sympathy or concern about the ultimate cost to society.

    also thresholds are antiquated.

    MPs Response:-

Thank you for your emails on this.

I do agree that the bankruptcy process needs overhauling, not least to increase the threshold at which creditors can start proceedings. I’ll be happy to raise this with the Government and I will keep you updated.

It is our company policy to never move a person from economy to first class, but being that it would be some sort of scandal to force a person to sit next to an UNPLEASANT person, the captain agreed to make the switch to first class." Before the woman could say anything, the attendant gestured to the black man and said, "Therefore sir, if you would so kindly retrieve your personal items, we would like to move you to the comfort of first class as the captain doesn't want you to sit next to an unpleasant person." Passengers in the seats nearby began to applause while some gave a standing ovation.

Sort of thing happened to me a couple of years ago on a Saudi flight, but in this case I was given a outside of centre row seat as I had problem with the left leg, and then could stretch it if necessary, whilst passengers arriving at the seats a hostess asked me " excuse me Sir, is it possible for you to sit in the next seat as this lady is insisting on an eisle seat" she had ben promised ( no doubt to get rid of her from check-in?, I responded sorry but I was allocated this one as I have a leg problem, the woman moaning and moaning , they went off then the hostess ushered a gentleman back to the seat and said excuse me Sir, so I hobbled out of the seat and the chap sat next to mine no problem, the hostess thanked me for understanding. she could see I was not being at all funny buy genuine.

Facebook scam this morning thru a chap on friends list, won $150000 on facebook lottery give details and pay $2000 tax/delivery charges, went a long for a while, even sent message to the chap on friends list and response was yes I did send message to you thru chat and have you paid delivery charge etc, so I asked him a personal question which only he would know the answer = silence from then on.

The other chap stated as I stated open package and take out the charges, he stated sealed and cannot , but how much can you afford to send immediatly, = I saidyou pay the charges then, === silence from then on. so be aware of this peeps reported scam from years ago still going on.
