    sadly no. They're litigation happy.

Not necessarily. It depends on your circumstances and the debt / cca circumstances.

            Re: Help with Cabot

I can get Niddy's comment above as just been looking at a certain 'other' site and there are so many people being issued with claims from marlin for old old debts...they are real vultures. Think i better keep my eye on the post and then I will start my own thread...duh

Mine is also a fairly new one - 2010, so it's very much a case of blagging and hoping they cock it up rather than pre 2007 unenforcability.

                  Re: Help with Cabot

Following this thread about the lowlifes marlin. My debt dropped off credit report earlier in the year so presume SB but still got the Marlin letters. Any suggestions about whether i wait (as they seem to go for court anyway) and deal with it if and when. Or kick off with CCA request which I hadn't previously done, as crapbot never did anything about it so I kept quiet? Haven't got all the paperwork as when shit was happening some of it was ditched.

seems a bit stupid, as the PO is blank could they not of just put Marlin on themselves??

Oh no wait, that would of been the logical thing to do, they don't do logical.

do you know for sure when you last paid anything to the account?

Marlin returning my PO because it didn't have Marlin written on the PO is stupid because i put two PO in with two CCA requests one for my cc and one for my hubbys both PO were not written out to Marlin they were left blank but for some reason hubby received a letter thanking him for the PO and that they would request the info from the original creditor , but they sent my PO order back .
they did include a 1st class envelope though but i still payed £1.10 for signed for wasn't taking any chances of it not being delivered or getting lost in the post

                          Re: Help with Cabot

As far as i can tell it was before the six years...but there is info missing. Essentially my ex ran up the debt whilst mentally ill and hid/destroyed letters etc (long story) so as far as i can tell no payments (or acknowledgement) so difficult whether to keep quiet and hope marlin bugger off because of SB or go for SAR which might alter them/crapbot...

To check on payments could you access old bank statements? This would hopefully find information without directly altering the DCA of the need to act quick if near the 6 year mark.

                              Re: Help with Cabot

That would be good but at the time she was paying one card with another and what was the joint account wasn't used. By then I had my own account and nothing came out of it. Hence bit of dilemma for me in knowing whether anything was paid etc. Don't want to alert the DCA hence have kept quiet and more so as the six years was up up last January. Thanks Tierisch ps not my thread so apols for asking questions here.

Does anyone know how much it actually costs a DCA to obtain a CCJ and do they have any criteria based on the value of the debt?
