What really pisses me of is Government has known about the practices of bailiff companies for years.

2007 that MP in the report took it to parliament long before John Boast was even employed by Rossendales so those 7000+ victims could have been saved from his vermin mouth.

But he has a moustache and is a colonel so is of outstanding dignity

Just been having a nose around MSE to update a few posts and the number of 'newbie' posters defending the bailiff industry, attacking debtors, and giving very questionable advice is unbelievable!

It would seem the 'industry' is trying to fight back a little!

Aaaaah its refreshing to be back in a forum where such garbage is not tolerated!

Hi, a few observations about the Exposure program and bailiffs.

The matter of bailiffs' behaviour and lack of regulation in this country is to put it mildly, staggeringly disappointing. This problem has existed for at least 30 years if not more and the prevalent attitude of Rossendales' and its directors is evident in the totally bias representation of the current blog at the "thecampaignforchange" website.

The moderation of that site is to ensure no negative contributions, so "we are right, you are wrong and you will be told" is the clear and obvious motto. It is this way with all dictators, what's good for them is not necessarily good for me and you. I am sickened by the sycophantic rubbish being written in that article and its supporters. The truth is that It is well known locally that Rossendales is an excellent company to work for; especially for salaried, office personnel who apparently are all treated very well, so undying support from that area is no real surprise. Credit then (pardon the pun), where it is due.

However, the truth about what goes on out in the field is worlds apart from that ethic.

A question; if John Boast is just one "rogue bailiff", how does a very well known UK firm justify employing a man who has worked exclusively for them for over 20 years despite knowing he has a criminal record for armed robbery?

On to the comments made by the woman in the programme regarding who Rossendales is "after" in terms of its typical debtor profile.

A question; if Rossendales is truly "not after the people that can’t pay" can someone explain how the comment made in the programme "but at the moment the country is literally flooded with those that can't pay" sits with Rossendales' agenda? It doesn't, if people "can't pay" then why burden them with additional extortionate costs and hardship? Does that make any sense, to anyone? Her comment was a spectacular own goal in my opinion.

Finally, if anyone wants to know what kind of people are really involved in the debt collection industry at the "certificated bailiff" level, please read the following, all of which was in regards to an unreasonable parking ticket...

Hi, thanks for the welcome.

I am not linked to any bailiff other than having upset a few in my time. When I was young and naive I allowed one into my home (council tax arrears) , I paid the price in silly fees. Since then I have had about four other instances with unpaid parking fines (two I wasn't aware of and one I objected to) and a leftover debt for business rates on a property I left. I've had other fines which I paid because I was in the wrong, as I should have.

These were all disputes where nobody would listen or give me a fair hearing, so I messed them about for months and won every time. Ever called a bailiff who's just been told the matter is withdrawn and said "told you so, come get my car it's parked outside".. They really have no sense of humour and get really angry and swear a lot.

I also know rather a lot about some particular people involved in the industry. I just put "sell your story" in google, wow!

My late dad was also a brave solider having served the maximum 27 yrs in the Royal Marines, however he remained true to what he was taught and was a credit to local society and did not resort to the unhand and illegal tactics of this guy.
