Install XP from the CD.
I have a feeling that for computers with more recent SATA drives you have to download some extra drivers and provide them when installing, otherwise XP fails to recognise the hard disk and won't install. You would wipe the disk first, then do a clean install.
You would also have to check that there were working XP drivers for all the hardware in the computer first. Win XP will load basic drivers to allow install then once you connect to Internet you download lappy specific drivers from the manufacturers site.I'm the forum administrator and I look after the theme & features, our volunteers & users and also look after any complaints or Data Protection queries that pass through the forum or main website. I am extremely busy so if you do contact me or need a reply to a forum post then use the email or PM features offered because I do miss things and get tied up for days at a time!

All computers (except macs) will load basic win drivers mate. Win XP uses these same basic drivers to allow basic config to install the OS ie basic graphics, basic bios/cmos, basic sound etc.....I'm the forum administrator and I look after the theme & features, our volunteers & users and also look after any complaints or Data Protection queries that pass through the forum or main website.
