Just got off the phone to warmfront, and we qualify survey is booked for the 24th (soonest avail) where they have to come and check out what needs doing then hopefully we'll be warm this winter and HOT water too

Only downside is they advise it could take up to 3 months but no longer than 5 months to get the work done, so just hope the Gov don't change their minds again like last time.

Really pleased you got sorted...had experiance to use warm front myself a while ago

superb gang of guys that did the job..not only did they sort a boiler they added loft insulation stopped a few bad draughts and gavce us advice on cavity wall insulation as well

Great news on getting something sorted fedup...hopefully, as you've been without a boiler for 4 years () you'll go to the front of the queue

Criteria only changed a couple of days ago

Yes and as I said changed because the uptake was not good enough and as you know govt want to reduce emissions

Thanks again everyone, up until this morning I thought we'd have another chilly winter, but thought I'd ask on here in case anyone had any ideas and tonight it's all looking good to getting it sorted for free.

As I said before the members here are fantastic, thanks to everyone for the advice, Niddy and to who pm'd me. I'm speechless, thank you.

Quick update, very nice man has just been here for about 3 hours and it's all systems go. New boiler, hot water tank, controller, thermostat, & valves.
Says could take up to 6 months but to ring to chase in about 6 weeks time.

Bit of a hiccup at first as he checked our paperwork and he said we didn't qualify, until I showed him the bit on the bottom of his new flyer that stated WTC Incl dependant child. To be fair to him he confirmed the new rules had only just come in. phew.

Update, spoke to Warm Front last week and they were puzzled as the contract was awarded out at the beginning of Oct, so they gave us the number to contact direct. Spoke to the company who said they've got the boiler and would ring back which they did and scheduled in next Tuesday, they later phoned again and changed it to Thursday, so all being well it will be toasty this time next week :-)
