            we just love Northumberland, fabulous totally empty beaches, great history (castles galore) and lovely people. Not busy even in July/August eberything is handy on the coast. Warkworth is lovely, river/beach/castle/good pubs/wee specialist shops and Alnmouth is the perfect family resort, fantastic beach/old fashioned feel/wee shops/great pubs/nice tearooms and easy travel around the region. We alays self cater (big doggle) and have stayed in some lovely cottages will all mod cons and not that expensive in the scheme of things, just check what you want and make sure there is outside space. Can't wait for this year's visit
            Thanks for some great ideas. Something like this appeals if we go with the all the family cos our doggie's gettin old and i wouldn't leave her in kennels. Have to have a little mini break on our own to get over it tho. Better go buy a lottery ticket

              Its gone a bit up market now they've knocked the Winter Gardens down. Used to have an 'event' there on a wednesday night where all the contractors and such like went. It was called the Bags Ball!!. Need i say more??

                          Woo hoo. Booked a week in Zante in September. Took me forever to decide. Read hundred of reviews so hopefully made a good choice. Cant wait
