Re: P800 Tax Calculation help
Heard from "J" she said the code of 881 that was given early this year is not shown on her payslip, and that of 0944L is being used.
So that means the HMRC not deducting it yet then?
Or maybe "just maybe" they have sorted it but she not heard yet"??

Re: P800 Tax Calculation help
Di its not possible for me to guess how long it takes. They will no doubt contact her employer, who will work to his own timescale.

Re: P800 Tax Calculation help
Sorry not posted on this thread for a little time.
Spoken to "J" last night and she said she contacted HMRC about 3 weeks or so ago and they said they were then dealing with the matter, but no incline on what is happening yet. She did ask when she should hear, but they just said anytime as they did not go into detail of anything.
So not sure if you would know once they are said to be dealing with it on how long roughly she should hear a result?
Or will this depend on the employers as well, on how long they take?
Cheers.

Re: P800 Tax Calculation help
Thank you.
It was early Jan they received her form (signed for delivery), and I think it's down to a backlog myself as that is really not that long on working it out.
I know she had wrote to them before send off that form she completed and she did hear within a little time, but on this one I personally dont think she will hear now until they've looked into it.
Will tell her to ring them though and maybe ask for an update, cheers.

Re: P800 Tax Calculation help
Give them a call, find out whats happening, but the most they will prob tell you, is how long they think it will take.
About the only thing they ever seem to know is how long the backlog is lol.
5 and 12 weeks sound a lot, but it isnt, they can take months, but always best to ring and ask incase its gone missing.
I say that because, i notice more and more agent authorisation forms are being lost by HMRC every week, on to my 6th for one client now.

I think it was December 2012 when she sent the info back off to them, so that's got to be 12 weeks or more???

Re: P800 Tax Calculation help
My mate called by today.........
No news on this one yet, no letter of acknowledgement either, unless they won't bother now until they resolved the matter.
Just wanted to update you, although no real update really lol.

Cant speculate, best to wait for the outcome and take it from there.

Re: P800 Tax Calculation help
Asked "Ju" for any updates but other than the new coding notice, she not heard anything at all.
I said maybe its best to just leave them to it, as it will probably take some time.
She did ask, if the HMRC found that she did not at all sign the P46, is it likely that it will go in her favour? or can the HMRC still say the employer still done this in good faith?
Not sure about that, so could not give her a firm answer, but just said if they think it's down to the employer, then they will put things right.

But if she did wish to repay it in one go, she would need to telephone HMRC PAYE (cardiff i think) and ask them how she can do it that way, they would have to reissue a new tax code at that point.
Yes me too, it's hardly any difference whatsoever, about £2.59 a week? about isn't it? lol.
Okay will let her know anyway, and yes it's Cardiff dealing with her's.
Thank you "again" lol.
