    Thanks SnV,

Speedloan responded to me on 7th September rejecting my initial offer. I wrote back again as you know, and they have not responded.

Has anyone had dealings with Chantry collections on here?

I'm guessing all quiet on the western front with the others too.

As I've just warned Marling - you'll probably get an increase in 'collection activity' (harassment), as Christmas approaches as they know people tend to have some money put aside for the holiday season. This is a normal 'cycle' that all DCA's/collections go through (plus its year end). You'll get the same towards the end of the financial year next Feb/March too.

Things going quiet is good, they will probably try to put erroneous marks on your credit files through spite, but if you're not worried about your credit file then they have no leverage over you!

    Just keep swimming!

    Thanks SnV,

Will start keeping envelopes from now on

Pounds to Pocket are not quiet, and keep on sending out Default notices, and Notices of arrears.Got another notice of default from Pounds to Pocket, in the post today. Looks like they are sending them out every fortnight. The dishonour fees are adding up, now £24.

The others are quiet. Got a call from the Moneyshop a few weeks ago, to call them.

Had a look at my credit file at the weekend. I have late payment markers on it from Mr Lender. That was with one Credit reference agency. Have not looked on Experian, they list all my PDL's.

I don't know how anyone can worry about their credit file once they have defaulted, the damage has been done right?

I care about my credit file, but as I have defaulted, I can't repair it for the next six years, right?

Thanks for explaining what a Tomlin order is.

    Will send them another letter.

Sorry i didnt mean to confuse you, what i meant when i posted was, even if your default came off, agreing a repayment or full and final now, wouldnt come off at the same time as the default, it would be 6 years from when it was last paid.

    What is the Tomlin order?

Are you aware that I wrote to them on 4th September with an offer from my I&E form, they responded on the 5th September, clearly stating they could not accept my offer?
Well if court doesn't bother you and you don't care about your credit file, then they have nothing further that they can threaten you with.

A Tomlin Order is an agreement between a creditor/debtor which can be useful in certain (not all) circumstances. We'll cross that bridge if/when we come to it.

I do remember they refused your payment offer - send it to them again. Remember - the OFT frown on a creditor refusing a reasonable offer that has been calculated with CFS format. Each time you send them this offer, and they don't accept, it works in your favour. Keep the goal in mind here - you want to be the reasonable person trying to sort this out, and you want to be able to demonstrate that they are the unreasonable, bullying, unethical company. It won't be difficult to achieve this

    • You have an arrangement now with Mr Lender
    • Quickquid and Pounds 2 Pocket are going to struggle because of how they have conducted their business in lending to you in the first place, so you have them under control
    • PaydayUK are easy to deal with and you have them where you want them also as they are refusing to cancel the CPA which is a breach of OFT guidelines (not that they can get any money anyway)
    • Speedloan are doing things by the book which works in your favour
    • The others are really quiet as they know there is nothing they can do

So try not to worry if possible. You're doing really well and you have to remember that time is your friend

You will always this initial burst of harassment activity. Remember - they do not WANT to help you, even though they have a lawful obligation to do so. So instead they will try to put you under pressure to make a payment you wouldn't normally if you were thinking things through, and they really don't give a monkeys bum what impact this would then have on you being able to pay the rent, feed yourself, get to work etc.

However, once they realize that this isn't going to work (and you're showing them its not), then you will find they will back off and for most part you won't hear from them again.

So, get some chocolate, kick back and relax

    SnV
    Thanks SnV,

It is a relief that I have started paying some of them off. Paid Mr Lender, and PaydayUK this month. I feel that some things are moving, you are right.

Will get some chocolate, there goes my diet
