    Re: Newbie requiring advice

I'm going to ring the bank now ! It's halifax so hopefully will be fine . If I withdraw cash out which can only be £300.00 , what about my priority direct debits which need to come out ?

No judge, however friendly s/he might be to a claimant or creditor, could revive a Statute Barred debt.

Nor should a judge allow enforcement of an agreement when the creditor has defaulted on a request made under ss. 77 - 79 of the Consumer Credit Act 1974.

Great cancel all the DD's for your debts then. We'll help you deal with those.

exactly. You got it. With a revolving DD (or variable) the amount can be queried at any time and you CAN then utilise the DD Guarantee.

Ok hold fire. First, do you have online banking?

Second, did Wonga tell you the amount they were taking and they JUST take that amount?

                              What is the "etc"?

Gas and electricity are not "priority debts" - they can't send you to gaol or discontinue supply merely for having missed one or two payments.

The electric telephone or mobile telephone is not a priority debt either, though they can restrict or discontinue service for non-payment.

Only the Council Tax is a priority debt. Are you claiming all the discounts and help to which you are entitled?

Yes! But you also said that P2P and Quickquid were taking payments via direct debit not continuous payment authority - which is it?
