          Hiya

Ok - so damage limitation is first thing you need to do here. You must call your bank immediately and instruct them to cancel any continuous payment authorities to Quick Quid and Pounds to Pocket to prevent them trying to take out payments tomorrow morning.

But just to check first - have you set up the payments to be made via debit card, or are instructions by direct debit?

          Thanks

Hmm, you can reclaim money back by direct debit I believe? So can she not claim back money paid to Wonga today via the direct debit guaruntee? SnV?

Which payday loan company wiped you out? Is it one of the ones you've listed already or an additional one?

Do you have any funds you can draw on temporarily for this month? Can friends/family help you out or can you sell some things you don't need?

No the OP cannot - the DD guarantee only applies when genuine mistakes have been made so unless the OP cancelled the DD and the bank allowed the payment anyway then it will not apply.

                    Re: Newbie requiring advice

                    Hello!

Dont be ashamed... hoenstly if you read through my diary I started off in a right state. I thought I had the biggest debt on planet Earth until I got to reading other peoples dairies and realised actually mine was a piddle in the ocean!

I was churning out 60% of my income to pay back my debts. I stopped paying last year and had the BEST EVER Christmas last year.. loads of money (in comparison to other years)

I am now batting away nasty letters and keeping my wages!

It might be alien to you the advice you are given but I can honestly say.. take it! These people know what they are doing and as far as I am concerned it's best to start the whole process off now rather than wait because it wont be long before some Judge somewhere ties up all the loop holes and getting out of debts wont be as easy... so act now!!

                    :-)

                        Hi

You're definitely sure its DD - can you check via online banking whether there is a DD mandate set up for your account for these companies?

If the answer is yes then if payments are due to come out tomorrow I would get to a cashpoint or your nearest bank branch immediately and withdraw as much money as you can (or all thats left) now so that you have some money to live on short term.

You need to be aware of the risk that if you leave any money in the account they will repeatedly try to take smaller amounts of money until successful, and leave you with literally nothing. There is also the issue that if you have insufficient funds then any returned DD payment will incur a charge with your bank, but this can be sorted later.

Do you have any other bank accounts at all?

You can try to call the bank to cancel the DD, but there is no guarantee that this will prevent payments from being taken tomorrow as you've probably left it to late.

                          Re: Newbie requiring advice

Well I owed wonga £1500 by the 30/4 but I normally pay them as soon as I got paid (which was Monday) so I can then re borrow so there's money in my account to pay for the other PDLs which come out on the 30/4 hope thus makes sense ! Problem now was that wonga only gave me £800.00 so I'm £700 even shorter now ...

Its ok - you don't need to justify what you were doing, we're not judgmental here

What I need to understand is whether you've got enough money to get through to the end of the month (even it means selling a couple of things), so that you're not tempted to rollover the current loans, or take out another one. You don't want to compound the situation if you can help it. You then need to prevent the other PDL companies from taking what limited funds you've got left.

logon today. Cancel DD manually. Then it's done before they claim funds

If they take it tmw then you can utilise the DD guarantee.
