I should've said this much sooner, but I want to thank Niddy and the team hugely, and some very kind members of the forum for everything that they did to help me.
I was almost deranged at the time, as there were marital problems, health issues etc and then this issue of an old debt reared its head. The settlement that was reached, thanks to Niddy and Jo, was better than I'd have believed possible.
My advice to anyone who has worries and/or technical concerns about debt is to consult the forum, as soon as they can muster up any strength - good practical expertise and reassurance is at hand.
