Maybe not totally the correct thing to do, but I might be of a mind to write to Lewis and state that you have documentary evidence which will be presented to a court if they make this necessary, to prove that this CCJ does not exist. Should they attempt to pursue the matter further you will be making a very substantial counter claim against them. Perhaps they should to seek further instructions from their client as to the amount of compensation and damges they are going to pay you.

      I would go further.

      regards
      Garlok

Lewis are members of both the Credit Services Association and the Debt Buyers and Sellers Group and have to abide by their Code of Practice. Non compliance with the code gets them into trouble So when a mod tells you the time is right I would report them using the Complaints Form which you can download from www.dbsg-uk.com and www.csa-uk.com

It won't make a blind bit of difference since these guys look after themselves, but you'll feel better knowing that you've turned the tables and kicked them where it hurts. After that you can take the futile response you get from Lewis to the OFT who do keep records of complaints and when they see a pattern forming they will pounce. I know it seems as if the OFT do nowt but they appear to work on the basis of quantity not quality when it comes to complaints from members of the public. So keep on writing to them everyone

Should my first move be to write to Lewis Group and tell them about the letter as Garlok suggests and see what they're response is before doing anything else. Sorry, i'm a bit of a wimp when faced with any sort of confrontation. Guess that's what they want and i need to toughen up a bit

You will toughen up as your time on this forum progresses in my time on other forums I have seen the most weakest and scared people post and then the help flows there way and they are a changed person as they realise being in debt is not such a bad thing after all .

You are getting the help and tools to fight back hell I would not want to meet you in a dark alley

                      Hi samsmum,

The idea is not to shoot all the ammunition at once but to put a shot across them to let them know that you have something in documentary form (don't tell them exactly what) which at the very least puts them on the back foot to go off and have a think. They play a "poker" game and you are holding a better hand now than them so don't blink

Our aim is to try and ensure that you don't even go near a court door with this again. See what I mean?

                      regards

                            Good find Samsmum!!!

Hmmm...how about drawing them out first, keeping you cards close to your chest, stating you have no knowledge or record of any CCJ against you and asking for proof.
At the same time it's important not to admit the debt etc so needs to be carefully worded.

                                Hi Shep,

Thats why I suggested that samsmum says that she has documentary evidence that this CCJ does not exist and tell them little if anything else.

If you have a better idea, would be good as following the annoyances and threats we have had I tend to start hitting them early, only gently at first but getting nastier by the minute if you know what I mean. Sols banged BC on the head straight away with a baseball bat in 2009. I.E. "If you think you have a case then you had better go to court to prove it where we are going to hit you hard and follow up with a damages and compo claim plus our client alleges several criminal acts on your part!" type stuff.

                                regards
