I would suggest the latter, however you have to take into consideration that if you do stop paying them etc and things get messy, are they likely to embarrass etc by chatting about it to friends/in the street etc etc?

Its one of those where once you make the decision, then we'll be better placed to help. However I (nor anyone else here) can make that decision for you.

If you cannot afford to pay then don't. That's the obvious thing. But you know the firm better than I do, you also know how they're likely to behave etc - so its your call, we can fight back - sure, but is that what you want?

Obviously I am not talking down the issue, but taking everything on board you do need to consider the facts as noted above.
You'll like this:Sent a letter on Monday offering £30 per month to be paid by standing order. Received a solicitors letter (reputable firm) today accepting but saying it does not amend terms of agreement and they reserve the right to request full payment etc. Must inform them of any fianancial changes. Sent 2 copies to sign and return

I don't recommend that you sign (with your usual signature) any correspondence to DCA's and/or creditors. If it is necessary, then just hand write, or get someone else to hand write your name If they have your signature on file, you never know what they might copy and paste it to......

A solicitor is nothing to worry about, its only if it ever actually goes to court that you might need to sign paperwork "properly" - unless that happens, you'll be fine. Most of the "solicitors" we experience are just legal sections of the debt collection companies.

                Don't worry x

Just been having a read elsewhere (yes i'm very bored) about payday loans. Advice was to contact them, tell them you intend to pay in full and ask for forgiveness for being late paying!!! I may get in a panic now and then but it made me realise how far i've come in a few months because if someone told me that was the right thing to do i would've done it back then

Ahh MSE, those that are so perfect - they seem to think debtors are scum, little do they realise their attitude is what is scum - loads of ex MSErs here, we're happy with what we have - leave them to wallow in their own ego's eh?

Nah, I was here at 5am though if that helps
