      Re: Oldy's UE Diary

      Hi all,

Been quiet on the UE front for a while, and I feel I've been lurking other's diaries long enough, so thought I'd post about how I control my phone. I thought this might be of help to others.

I have caller display and a phone that allows me to block numbers, and I have witheld number blocking set up with my phone company. Blocked numbers I don't even get to know about until I look up the calling history maybe once a day. The phone is set to silent, so it doesn't ring, and the display just lights up.

This stops that panic moment whenever the phone rings, or in my case doesn't! If I'm in I can simply see who's calling, if it's a friend or family member their numbers are programmed in and their names come up. If I don't recognise the number then it gets ignored, and the call goes to voicemail.

Unrecognised numbers are looked up on a website called 'whocallsme.com' which is very useful. I can then block them if I so choose.

I discovered the call block facility quite by accident. I was considering forking out for a trucall, but before parting with my hard earned dosh, I flicked through my phone manual and found it. If you have a fairly modern phone then it might be on yours too. Even if yours doesn't the other steps could really help out.

I've found this really helps and puts me back in control. The only moment of trepidation each day now is looking to see what's fallen through the letterbox!

        Yea FP,

I've been doing this for quite a while and if I've read it right, the calls on one of Niddy's specials just disappear into thin air. What I like about it is I can see who's been trying to call, so it gives me advance warning of what could next be coming through the letter box.

Also I don't want to wake up any creditors I haven't heard from in a long time by changing any details.

You have a fair point there Niddy. Yea, it may seem a little perverse but I do like to know who's doing what so to speak. I can see who's calling and how often. When it doesn't get backed up by something in writing I've a fair idea how serious they are.

I once joked with someone who knows about my situation that I felt like Wily Coyote from the old Road Runner cartoons-blissfully unaware the 50 ton weight is gonna fall on me until i look up at the last second! At least this way I feel I can look up a bit earlier and try and dodge it!

CCA Request sent 21 Oct 11.
08 Nov 11 received CCA with illegible original T&Cs and a copy of latest ones. Scanned in and sending off to Niddy.
15 Nov 11 sent off 'illegible copy received' letter.
06 Jan 12 received a default notice, balance now due etc etc. I've never received a response from the above letter. This is the second DN they've issued They defaulted my CRF almost six years ago. I'm going to keep a close eye on my CRF to see if they try and 'update' that.
07 Feb 12 Received 'Final Notice' saying pay arrears today or will take further action Thing is the arrears on the letter are Zero!
Updated. The letter I sent in November was my own version. Thinking of send the 'illegible copy received' template, or do I ignore?

                        Hi Niddy,

Just to mention I've emailed a couple of CCAs for your expert eye to look at.

As I said, there's no rush, just Wil-E-Coyote looking up for the 50 ton weight whilst it's a tiny dot in the sky, instead of waiting for it to block out the sun!

                        Thanks very much in advance.

Sainsburys - unfortunately this is enforceable. However for now I would blag it as they are not that strict at enforcement activity - are you paying - also when did you last pay? Respond as follows: ---> Our Templates | Unenforceability Templates | CCA Query - Missing Prescribed Terms

Nationwide - Unenforceable - there are no PT's anywhere on the form nor are any attached. Respond as follows: ---> Our Templates | Unenforceability Templates | CCA Query - Application Form Received

Hi everyone, up to now it's been very quiet on the UE front.

After a few sporadic phone attempts from RMA I received a letter last month. It was just a 'Please get in touch' so I ignored it. Today I've had another saying pay up in full immediately and we are looking at our options to enforce.

If you remember Niddy, we had a short discussion via email on the CCA for this. If you need reminding then I'll gladly resend, but the T&Cs looked a bit dubious.

I have to say I'm a little worried on this one, as I understand these are quick to litigate.

I CCAd these just out of interest 3 years ago. Their reply was that they didn't know what I was on about and suggested I do a SAR! These have never been any bother to date so I don't expect much more.

March 12: Received a letter from them asking to get in touch. Didn't respond.
April 12: Received another letter this time more threatening. Sent off another CCA request.
May 12: Received big letter with lots of stuff that bears no relation to me at all. Their letter says they are unable to supply a copy of the original agreement, so here's a recon. Thing is this recon is utter rubbish. I shan't be bothering Niddy with it.
                                Update.
