Original creditor NatWest bank - ACCOUNT CLOSED AS PAID IN FULL
      • Type of account Loan card and overdraft consolidated
      • Date commenced
      • Approx balance £9418.96
      • Date last paid 27/10/14

24/01/08 - CCJ attached (debt was 9418.96 then)

      23/06/2016

Have now had my letter confirming the judgement is paid in full. I can now apply to the court for a Certificate of Satisfaction.

      Original creditor NatWest bank
      • Type of account Credit card
      • Date commenced
      • Approx balance £3704.44
      • Date last paid 27/10/14
      • Are you on arrangement or not paying DMP with Step Change
      • Status added to DMP 19/07/2007

As this card is connected to NatWest who hold my mortgage Elsa advised me not to try and go the UE route to start with.

31/05/14 - Letter sent advising of Hubby's condition and change of payment
      No response as yet

24/06/16 - Have had to accept this debt as I didn’t want to caused myself problems with the mortgage part of NatWest so when the CCJ finished I thought I could ditch Step Change and pay direct for this card debt.

I phoned to see if I could pay a bit more than the £1 I had been paying and clear the debt earlier. Was advised if I did this they would pass the debt to Westcot so I opted to stay as I was.

11/07/16 – I have received a letter to say that NatWest have partnered with Westcot who will manage the remainder of my plan….keep maintaining my existing payments.

18/10/16 – I cancelled my DMP payment to Step Change when I finished the CCJ back in June and sent £1 per month for this card for them to send on.

I have now had a couple of Statements from Natwest with no payments showing and whilst I am chasing Step Change to see what they have done with the money.

        Hi

Have listed everything we owe but can't find all the dates yet where debts passed from one company to another. Doesn't make for good bedtime reading but at least it's done.Smallpaws.

good to get it all written down Smallpaws

Having dealt with Stepchange at one point, I wouldn't allow them to not answer letters, phone them and tell them to get their finger out. They are supposed to be acting for you, make sure they do when you need them to.

          Good Luck

Well done for getting it all down, that's the first step to getting help in sorting it out all. There are quite a few members who have bigger debts that have been fighting longer than you! What do you want to do with all these? Do you want to try and go down the UE route? I'm sure Elsa, our medical expert will be along with loads of help.

Hi Smallpaws. As you started a DMP in 2007 then it's possible that your debts are UE though obviously you can't take that route with the one that you have a CCJ for. If I were you I would be getting cca requests sent off to all the rest. You may get some hassle (letters and phone calls) in the beginning but it soon settles down, plus we have template letters to send if they start harassing you.

                Re: Smallpaws UE Diary

I have been told by Stepchange that I can take a year out paying £1.00 to all but the Natwest one under the CCJ but that only sent DLC chasing after a charge against me. They haven't offered any other advice so I am happy to try the UE route.

Hubby won't work again so all of the above fall to me plus trying to keep mortgage going and get a grant to adapt our home to bring him back to. I can keep working but would like to back these sharks away in the meantime. If they want blood may be they can chase each other for fun for a change?

                  Re: Smallpaws UE Diary

I have printed two CCA requests for myself which I can get in the post tomorrow and will update diary.

Most of the ones in my UE diary are for hubby and the Letter for the Court of Proctetion also goes reg post tomorrow - does this mean I can't send CCA to his creditors in the meantime?
I can't officially sign them unless I state somewhere the application is pending?

                    Re: Smallpaws UE Diary

don't actually sign anything, just type your name or hubby's

the odd DCA has been known to lift a signature, this happens, a bank did it to me.

                      Re: Smallpaws UE Diary

That's the normal way to do it, but In all honesty, I'd be careful in your hubby's case as we have other options.
If they're not chasing him, I'd not send any CCA requests other than for your own debts.

For hubby's, I'd sit it out till you have a legal right to write on his behalf, then send a letter to all of them, together with medical evidence, seeking a write off. (Which I'm more than happy to help you with).
Sometimes sending a CCA Request before requesting a write off on medical grounds can undermine the process. He has a strong and genuine case so I would try that first if it was me.
If they don't play ball on the write off, then I'd CCA them.

Just my own opinion of course

PS: Can you remind me, are you just paying £1 a month on your hubby's debts at the moment? Is interest stopped on all of them?

Never mind if I have stirred them up the wrong way they could have been kinder in the first place so I will tough it out. Life is tough now anyway and I am still smiling (just).
The court application is also on it's way and I have told them I need to speak for him on 07/01/15 - am hoping they can do this by then but it is a long shot.
