20/07/13 Letter received from Lowell's dated 18th July - Thank you for contacting us about your credit agreement. We have asked your original lender for a copy together with statements.

We will reply as soon as we can
We will do our very best to send you the information you asked for within 12 working days, but this depend on when your original lender can send it. We will let you know if we do not hear from them in time.

    We're here to help
In the meantime if you have any more questions we will be pleased to help you; please do phone us.

This letter is slightly different than others I have received, they have said that the account will be on hold until they can provide the CCA, Lowell's don't seem to be saying that and they are also saying they are asking for statements - now I suspect they will be able to find those but the CCA (and in all honesty I am pretty sure I only signed an index card in the branch) might be a different matter.

Do I need to be concerned about this wording?

Strange as this is just about the same as the last letter except they don't mention statements...... I will just sit back and wait.....

    1/08/13 Letter received from Lowells

News on your credit agreement request, we have been in touch with Lloyds about the copy of your credit agreement.

They have let us know they are trying to retrieve the agreement from their archive. As soon as we have it, we will send it to you.

    What will happen next
In the event we cannot obtain a copy of the agreement we will write to you again and inform of this. Once you have seen your credit agreement, we will ask you to pay your outstanding balance in full.

    Yours sincerely

Letters seem to be coming thick and fast - hope Lloyds got lost looking for the TSB vault! I am assuming I don't have to do anything with this, just sit and wait?

LLoyds have been looking for Mr NW CCA since 2010, they insist that he would of singed one and will send it when they find it, so any dca's just get told that when they contact us .

          7/08/13 - Letter received from Lowell's dated 5/08/13

We are waiting for your credit agreement.
I am afraid we have not received a copy of your credit agreement from Lloyds yet. They are still trying to retrieve it from their archives. We have placed your account on hold until we receive further information.

When we have received it from them we will post it to you straightaway.

We won't write to you until we have the agreement, but if you have any more questions in the meantime, please do phone us.

Well I am just praying it will take Lloyds another 14 months to dig deep into their archives Letter filed and feeling much better about the whole Lowell's thing....

Fingers crossed Jane, this is in the bag
I know companies do archive stuff, but you would like to think (or perhaps not in this case!) - that if they have the documents, they would supply them.

Sit back and relax - you deserve it!
When Gold isn't enough, there is SA Gold! New to the forum and find the UE route a bit scary? Take a look at my diary here and judge for yourself. I am now saving the money each month that was making little difference to the balance and not a bit of difference to my credit file as a result of finding AAD.

Came back off a weekend away celebrating a friends 40th and thought my hangover was worse than I imagined!

02/09/13 Letter received from Lowell dated 29th August

              Your Credit Agreement
We refer to your recent request for a copy of the original credit agreement for this account.

After Liaising with Lloyds in an effort to obtain this document we have been advised that it is no longer available due to the length of time since the account was opened with you.

              We are closing your account.
At this time we have closed our file and will not make any further contact with you concerning payment against this account unless the copy of the agreement is
received at some point in the future from Lloyds.

STEP 1 - you do not need to do anything

Oh my god!!!! Can you believe it - the balance is £11540.80 and if I am reading this right they have just walked away? I should be celebrating right?

Sorry Deepie, meant to thank your post but seem to have "reported" it. This has happened a couple of times recently. Could the "hotspot" behind the buttons have slipped a bit?

However well done TJ! Keep that letter very very safe for future reference. We have two from Lowells on separate accounts. They buy this stuff for a pittance, a fraction of the true value or outstanding balance. If they then realise there is a dispute and documentation cannot be found they will back away. Its all a numbers game. They will make a profit on the whole deal purchases because there are more vulnerable people out there who are much easier to prey on.

                      regards

Hi Deepie, I hit the "Thank You" so I think and then get a dialogue box with the Yellow triangle and exclamation mark and an OK button. Tried to just close it with the top right red box/white X. It closed but the thank you button had disappeared from below your post only the "Report" button remained. So I assume with a couple of the previous instances as well that my mouse pointer is mssing the "Thank" hotspot and picking up the triangular "report" hotspot.
