When Gold isn't enough, there is SA Gold! New to the forum and find the UE route a bit scary? Take a look at my diary here and judge for yourself. I am now saving the money each month that was making little difference to the balance and not a bit of difference to my credit file as a result of finding AAD.

03/09/14 Still haven't CCA'd Cabot Financial - they marked my file gone away for a couple of years but started writing again 6 months ago - I have ignored all contact. Anyway today I get a letter saying

              "Your Next Steps"

We have tried to contact you on several occasions to discuss your debt.

As we have not heard from you, we are now going to refer your account to an external debt collection company.

Our preference is to talk to you to avoid doing this.

If you give us details of any income you receive together with your bills and other priority expenditure, then we will try to set up a repayment plan that suits your situation.

if we do not hear from you within the next seven days, then the next letter you receive will be from an external debt collection company."

Now I haven't CCA'd them yet and this goes SB in Feb 2015. Would you wait for the external debt collectors to contact me and then CCA them? The debt is for over £6000.

Thanks everyone, I will just ignore again then..... time is ticking by not long now till this goes SB so I suspect they will get a bit heavy! With regards to SB status - with a couple of my cards I wrote and explained my circumstances in late 2008 and agreed to pay £5 a month - I did with one or two for a couple of months but with others I never actually paid the £5 - will my SB date go from the date I sent the letter as I acknowledged the debt then or from my last payment date? Just trying to work out when I will be out of the woods

I believe it is from when you last acknowledge the debt.

                          Morning Jane

I suppose technically it would go from the date of the letter, but whether they could procure the letter, even if they knew about it, is another matter. They have enough problems finding agreements!
Date of last payment is pretty much set in stone and inarguable, so fingers crossed they'd take that as the date. (Unless it was a contractual payment prior to default, in which case it would be the day after the first missed payment).

How are you doing, are you OK hun?

                          Elsa xx

                                Hi Jayne
Just had to hunt down your thread as I couldn't remember seeing a reply. Must have slipped by me.
So glad to see Josh is doing well. George sounds brilliant, its so good for them to have active hobbies. So many children just seem aimless and bored around here.
Can't imagine you as a grandma!!
I'm OK thanks, but my son's not doing too well. He's on a type of chemo and has had to have more time off work because of side effects...and they've been less than sympathetic. Called him in to a meeting next week to discuss the situation. I think the phrase "exit strategy" was used.
His Union Rep is onto it, they haven't kept to their promise and she wants to try for a settlement. I've also suggested he ask about early ill health retirement via his local authority pension scheme which he's paid into for 6 years. It's difficult as we don't know if he'll be better once this new treatment kicks in, or whether this will just go on forever. He feels he'd be better self employed so he could work around it on the better days, and I'm tending to agree with him. A settlement would help with that.
Fingers crossed for the meeting next Monday. xxx
All very stressful for him for something that he can't help.
