Great post Jane. Pleased to hear things are so very different for you a year on.

      Best wishes.

I am now saving the money each month that was making little difference to the balance and not a bit of difference to my credit file as a result of finding AAD.

Well I wonder if anyone can give me some advice - I have a CCJ that I got prior to finding here - I agreed to a payment of £10 a month (old AA Loan) - I have set up a standing order so it is paid every month - today I get a letter dated 4th March stating I haven't paid since 31st January and unless I bring my account up to date they will consider further legal action. I have just checked my online banking and the money was paid on 28th February! Should I contact them? They are asking for the February payment but they have had it...... Any advice would be much appreciated. Jane x

          Hi

Do your payments go straight from your bank account to the creditor's bank account? If so I would be inclined to send them a short letter confirming when the payment left your account and telling them to check again. There was a weekend between 28th Feb and 4th March, so they didn't allow much time for the payment to get posted to your account.

Or wait a few days as it'll get credited soon

I refer to recent communication regarding the above referenced account.

In order to resolve this matter and to assist us with our investigations, please confirm the date you left the address of ........... (my old address)?

A prepaid envelope is enclosed for your convenience and look forward to hearing from you within the next 14 days.

              Yours sincerely

I moved in 2006 to my current address - should I just tell them? They haven't sent the first page of my agreement that was taken out when at the old address so I am wondering if this has something to do with it - whether they are trying to reconstruct the first page and put the right address in? What would you do, any advice would be much appreciated.

              Thanks

20.03.14 - received out of the blue a letter from AK re an old Egg account - It is basically saying that they are pleased to have been able to talk to me about my account and thanking me for that.

They go on to say I now need to clear my outstanding balance and they would like to help.

              Benefit from New Deal

They suggest I give them a ring to help them find a solution for me and arrange a payment plan, and apparently I will be able to benefit from their new incentive programme called New Deal.

New deal will enable me to access benefits that reduce the amount I will owe! They may add a lump sum to get me started!

What do you think about this letter - the last thing I had from re the CCA was a copy but with pages missing - they wrote in December saying they would find the missing pages and forward it to me. Then they wrote to ask dates etc when I lived at certain addresses - I sent the missing P&T when they sent the incomplete CCA but have ignored both letters since. What should I do about this one? Slightly concerned they are implying I have acknowledged the debt to them - I have only used the AAD templates.......

              Would you ignore still?

It's just another (rather inappropriate) template, nice cop/nasty cop routine. Sometimes they even say that they've received your offer of payment. Tricksy beggars!
See what others say, but if it was me I'd ignore it for now...keep us informed of their next attempt.

                  Hi all,
Well J&P are at it again, this time they have sent the following:-
Re: Our client – 1st Credit (finance) Ltd
Our records show that you have failed to comply with your payment arrangement entered on the 02/11/2011.
You may recall that you agreed to discharge the debt by instalments of £10.00 per month.
The last payment received on this account was in the sum of £10.00 on the 31/03/2014
Then they give me the current balance and their bank account details
Please ensure that your payment is received by return to avoid additional legal action being taken.
We trust this action will not be necessary and look forward to hearing from you by return.

This letter is dated 1st April! I know my payments are up to date, they sent a similar letter last month and they had been paid then too…… I am becoming worried they are going to try and get a charging order saying I haven’t paid when I have…. Any advice? This is an AA loan that I got a CCJ on before I found here.

They say the last payment received was the day before the date of their letter, which is strange. My inference is that - according to their records - there is a missing payment prior to 31/03. What date in each month do your payments leave your account?

I would be inclined to tell them that all your payments have been made, and demand an up to date statement of account from them, to see if it tallies with the payments you have made.

                      Hi

The payment is set for the last day of the month, I've paid every one not missed any. This is making me nervous. I can get them statements from the account I pay from. Shall I just write a simple letter stating I believe my payments are up to date and ask them which month they believe hasn't been paid so I can send them the statement?

                        Hi

I think that is possibly the problem, that you pay in one month, but they receive in the next month. Would it be possible for you to bring forward your normal payment date by say one week?

All the same, I think I would request a statement of account from them showing payments received, to get to the bottom of any difference between payments sent and payments credited to the account. You don't want this nonsense every month.

well i've returned home from a week away with work to a letter from Activ Kapital offering me a gift voucher for £6,700 if I pay the balance of £3,400 by the end of April! They still haven't sent a copy of the full agreement or T&C's. Should I ignore? I don't have that sort of money anyway

You won't have acknowledged the debt if you've used AAD templates...they're very carefully worded so you can stop worrying on that score.

Your Egg account will be SB in around 6 months so that is probably why AK are keen to get you to do a deal now...while they can still try to get some money from you. I think I would send them http://www.all-about-debt.co.uk/inde...e-cca-received
