        I personally would totally ignore this letter. If: and this is a BIG if: they do turn up. Politely ask them to go away, then shut the door.

            Re: Conquistador's UE Diary 2010

            Just a quick update to say that Lloyds Bank have written to me to explain they have (finally) sold the unenforceable debt to 1st Credit Ltd, which would explain a phone call last week from someone claiming to work for a telecom firm, and (unsuccessfully) trying to clarify if I was 'Alan'. From what I can tell, my only default notice on my credit file is that from Lloyds Bank, and I'm estimating it ends around 2016. When that happens, do I have to pay to have it removed or is it automatically erased?

            NB I used Noddle for access to my credit file, which is a free site and seems pretty good...

              Defaults drop off your credit file after six years...you shouldn't need to pay to have them removed.

                  I wouldn't be accessing your credit file all the time, you might as well raise a big flag with a big finger pointing at your head, better under the radar, no point in telling everyone where you are

                      Re: Conquistador's UE Diary 2010

                      I wasn't sure where to post this so I thought I would put it here...

                      My wife recently received a letter from HSBC regards victims of the PIP scheme the banks have been instructed to resolve. It asks if she would like to claim/apply for a review of her case, which would be treated as a complaint. Obviously the loan was basically unenforceable, so would it prove unwise to seek some form of financial remedy for the PIP? My gut instinct says leave it well alone but I thought I would just put it out for opinion...'Merry Christmas' everyone by the way.

                        Sorry you haven't had an answer yet.
                        I am unable to help as I have no idea how to advise you, but on saying that it may be an idea to think of the following;
                        how much was owed on the UE account and if you claimed anything back would it cover the amount owed, If not I think I would let sleeping dogs lie.

                            You comment about 'sleeping dogs' has weight so unless I'm absolutely convinced it would benefit pursuing, I think i will give this a wide berth, thank you for your reply...
