Do you think I should send the "Prove It" letter to halt any further action such as doorstep visits?

I would follow the direction in this post. Send the template listed here - i.e.e threat of doorstep visit. The harassing calls we can deal with later.

I would be inclined to send a new CCA request, recorded delivery and start a proper paper trail

Not yet, lets stop the doorstep visit first yes?

Then we can look at everything after, such as volume of calls, harassment, validity of debt etc.....

main thing right now, stop the hassle. Plus he is 4 years in with no contact soooooo

Exactly - a CCA request could easily count as a written acknowledgement, "restarting the SB clock" and giving the buggers more time to concoct a really good forgery of the executed agreement.

I don't expect you think the same but, whenever I see MrsD's avatar, I wish she'd go to the loo.

Actually no a CCA Request is not acknowledgement mate. Payment or direct acknowledgment in writing would reset it, but asking for general information based on the claim they say you are the account holder, with no formal offer or payment or liability admittance means it'd not reset the SB clock in normal circumstances.

                    Well that's my view anyways

That seems logical, I have printed the "Doorstep Visit" letter and am sending it Recorded 1st class delivery this morning.

Just to let you know, the average number of calls is 3 per weekday from two different numbers.

Ok, so AK have my letter, "Doorstep Visit" and are still calling.

I have informed them that I will be writing to them today and that they must stop calling or else I will report them to the OFT.

The question is, what letter should I send now?
