Hi all, sorry if this has been covered elsewhere but can someone please clarify the situation re signatures in this regard:

I understand that digital signatures (ie fancy font printed by PC/Mac rather than real John Hancock) on letters to banks etc are to prevent them using the John Hancocks on reconstituted CCAs, however we have to send cheques for £1 to receive this info, can our real signatures by lifted from the cheques by unscrupulous types?

    Many thanks.

Can either use a PO, or sign the cheque with a different signature, and take a photocopy before you send it.

Cant say for all, but I know most banks wouldnt bother checking the signature for such a low amount (mine didnt)

I always use postal orders - no signature required.
