That seems a fairly new tactic of theirs. I've dealt with Moorcroft three times and they've contacted the creditor themselves each time; as they should.

Don't talk to them on the 'phone. Things get said on the 'phone that would never get put in writing. Send the letter that's been suggested re. 'phone harrassment and in the meantime, hang up or put the 'phone down until they get fed up and do it their end.

          Remember the mantra:
          NEVER communicate by 'phone.

            Re: CCA help

I had Moorcroft send back my PO and a letter telling me the OC cannot supply the CCA as account was to old.

Yes.... sometimes they can even be quite obliging!! They are one of the few I've dealt with who've (eventually) given me a direct answer.... and then gone away....

Just to clarify, it's Greymatter that got the letter, which is brilliant ...

...but it's Megzilla's thread and his/her CCA issue is still ongoing

Hi Megzilla, P1 is spot on with this, I NEVER talk to them on the phone. I just let it go to the answering machine which costs them. They might leave a message saying 'This is a very important message.....'. No it's not! It also forces them to write. I have caller display so simply ignore them. If you don't have this, so have to pick up when your phone rings, once they've said who they are then just hang up. Don't worry about making things worse for you if you do this, it just makes them powerless. Just have a giggle to yourself that you've wound up some arrogant, commission-focussed call centre drone!

I've never sent the 'Telephone harrasment' letter either. They can try and call me all they like, I know that when they do as said above, it costs them. Once you start putting up a fight and start draining their resources, you become a liability, especially when the account is UE!

Hi again! I understand the sense of honour that you have with wanting to pay something. Just remember that the people you're dealing with don't have one. By all means stop paying, as it'll put them on the back foot and they WILL pay attention to your letters.

If you follow the suggestions posted here you will then gain control of the situation. You probably will have to put up with a lot of from them but that's all it usually is. Their refusal to deal with your unsigned CCA request is a good example.

The way I look at it is that it becomes a game of letter ping-pong. I now feel disappointed on days when there's no post! Don't live in fear.....

Yes it was just me making a point(in my case) that they can/do return the PO also when they cant trace the agreement.
