Re: HSPF sold debt to CapQuest who sold debt to Lowell Portfolio 1

OK just back from PO.... letter sent via recorded 1st class.... can check on line if it arrived and who signed for it.. postal order in envelope with nothing written on it... can apparently also check online to see if it's been cashed and when.
Made a signature with unique to me writing in the back and signed it..

Now .. when does the 12 days start? Is it the 20th I need a reply by? Am so nervous about this!! lol Thank you all for your help though

When Gold isn't enough, there is SA Gold! New to the forum and find the UE route a bit scary? Take a look at my diary here and judge for yourself. I am now saving the money each month that was making little difference to the balance and not a bit of difference to my credit file as a result of finding AAD.

Goodness, this 'journey' makes one obsessive!

I think I have checked where the signed for letter is about 50 times today... lol

          Always get this reply:

Item **************GB was posted at ***** High Str ******* on 03/12/13 and is being progressed through our network for delivery.

Am reading through SA Gold's diary though to keep my faith up... I was bouncing about in a good mood yesterday but am now doubting this will go well.. need to read and get the bounce back!

Should I have started this in the diaries section? Or is it likely that as I paid a bit in Feb 13 that this will be enforceable despite being a 2008 loan?

Re: HSPF sold debt to CapQuest who sold debt to Lowell Portfolio 1

This will be enforceable anyway because of the start date (post April 2007) but you can try and blag it.

What the payment in February 2013 will have done is put back the date the debt will become statute barred to February 2019.

I imagine they are laughing at me and I am wishing I hadn't bothered now.. I had no idea about the 2007 'thing' ... Do you think it will effect how much they allow me to settle for knowing I have poked the hornets nest? Will it have pee'd them off?

says who? You might not, however the way it works is that you stop paying and argue and let them sell it several times and then if it is enforceable and they get too heavy then you can make a small offer to settle - put simply if you had a £5k debt, and play the game the AAD way, if you HAD to settle, we'd be looking at around 10-20% settlement so anything from £500-1000.

With that attitude you'll have to pay it all back and any interest/charges so don't be negative, it's not a big deal right now - carry on regardless and keep us updated.

No not at all - there is EVERY reason to keep going with this.

There is always the possibility they cannot find an agreement, but if you go through the diaries you will see several people with post 2007 accounts that have been written off for various reasons.

I have got post 2007 accounts written off due to challenging unlawful charges for example.

The devils in the detail as to how you've been treated and the terms of your agreement. Balls in their court now so wait and see what the respond with.....

I doubt they'll be laughing at you...more like they'll be thinking another one from AAD who's got the balls to fight back.

                              Theres no need to apologise!

We all have up/down/good/bad days when dealing with our debts.

What you will find is the peaks/troughs smooth out over time as you get hardened to it and learn how to deal with your creditors and what are standard 'threat-o-grams' and what are more serious.

Theres more than one way to skin a cat as the saying goes and the same will be this account, just because its not UE doesn't mean there aren't other avenues to challenge.

If you make yourself prickly enough there is also a chance (sad fact that it is), that creditors/DCA's will leave you alone as there will be 'easier' targets to pursue (those that unfortunately don't know that forums like this exist where they can get real help).

Great to have you on AAD!

Should I change my Santander Bank Accounts? I do hope not as it's a hassle.. but are they linked with the HSPF debt?
