Can anyone help - I wrote to mbna asking them to accept a reduced offer as final settlement on my accounts with them as I just wanted to get them cleared they then phoned me to say thet they were happy to accept the settlement figure- and I confimed with them that I would not be pursued for the remaining amount and my acount will be closed and that I was not liable for the remaining amount -I also had this in aletter from them confirming it. Then this morning I recieved a letter stating that they are transfering the remaining balance to another company and providing me with a new account number. what should I do I am furious.....

Re: mbna C/C
Do you have proof of this agreement, in writing?
If they did this over the phone sorry, your own mistake for believing a bank. I can sort it for you but need a lot more info and clarification as to how you agreed to repay.
Problem is that these buggers will say owt on the phone to get you to pay thus our no1 rule is hang up and only deal in writing.I'm the forum administrator and I look after the theme & features, our volunteers & users and also look after any complaints or Data Protection queries that pass through the forum or main website. I am extremely busy so if you do contact me or need a reply to a forum post then use the email or PM features offered because I do miss things and get tied up for days at a time!

Do you know the time and date the call to them was made ?I'm an official AAD Moderator and also a volunteer, here to help make the forum run smoothly. Any views or opinions are mine and not the official line of AAD. Similarly, any advice I have offered you is done so on an informal basis, without prejudice or liability.
