They were not impressed and pretty rude to me. This annoyed me as I have paid them this insurance every month for more than 5 years.
This is my first step preparing for getting rid of their help!! in the new year.
Now towards the end of the week I am getting calls from DMP at least twice a day.
Hmmmmmm - have you read the t&c's with regards to the PPI?

There are people far more knowledgeable than me in this area (Di for example), but I'm wondering if there may be a case here for mis-selling and possibility of a reclaim?

Does anyone know of anyone who has reclaimed PPI from a DMP provider?

Thanks Odetter for reminding me of how much I have paid the. To make the amount worse I have searched my attic for papers (being a hoarder!!) and found my original paperwork. We have also been paying life insurance as well of £10 per month. This pays £20,000 to the creditors if either of us die. I plan on cancelling this tomorrow morning when I ring payplan.

Check whether the life insurance is valid. Do either of you have any medical conditions etc that would invalidate?

Hang on a minute - did I just read that right - you have taken life insurance with Payplan that pays your creditors £20,000 in the event of your death???

This is in addition to the £30/month you are paying in 'payment protection insurance'?

SnV, Yes.The insurance is £5 a month each for me and my wife and yes in addition. I have rung Payplan to cancel it this morning but they will get a rep for life insurance to confirm my cancellation next week.

Ok I seriously think you need to look at whether the insurance that has been sold to you is appropriate for your circumstances and whether there are grounds for a claim of mis-selling.

Sounds like they're faffing around with the cancellation as well. It needs to go off in writing Max, or by email at the very least.... with confirmation that it will take place with immediate effect.

Thanks. I will send an email tonight to cancel it as around work it may be a week or more before I speak with them on the phone.

As Pixie has said don't speak on the phone, there is no record and things can be 'misunderstood' by both sides ...... Refuse to answer their security questions, after a while as your confidence grows it can become quite a game dealing with them.

I love refusing to answer security questions - some DCA phone monkeys just don't know how to handle it.

The second they say "The phone calls will not stop until you do" you have them on harassment............
