    Re: My own DMP

    Well my Halifax Credit Card has been turned over to Blaire Oliver and Scott.

    She asked me about my situation and I said but surely arent you the inhouse debt collecting agency for Halifax. O yes we are but I don't have access to your information about your situation. Anyway they are carrying on with my montly payment and have frozen the interest.

    So that is ok for the time being

          sorry to hijack thread, but what happens after they send a DN? Reason I ask, we have been offering lower payments to creditors, one has issued dn and then acepted lower payment for 3 months. Others are threatening dns. What do they do after that? I just want to get on with paying off our debt as a lower monthly amount that I can afford, but don't want them to take us to court or send bailiffs round, is this likely?

          Thanks;

            I've only been defualted on two so far the longest being Mint and they just so far (touch wood) accepted the payments - no CCJ's. Also they won't send bailiffs it will be a doorstep agent who has... erm... no power... (isn't that right?? someone??)

              Yep they will only send a doorstep agent, but they have as much power as a paperboy.

              They should also warn you by letter if they do this & then you simply send this to them

                  Hiya

                  Have santander responded to your offer as yet? if not I think you need to write again and remind them of your offer...... however if they are hassling the ex then leave them to it - lol. I s'pose it is better than them hassling you.

                  As for the Default, it will be a bog standard default notice in line with s.87 CCA....... don't worry about it, but being you've made a gesture to pay I am surprised they are playing this game - you really need it to be sold to a DCA to get a good offer so let em default you - don't worry.

                      Re: My own DMP

                      The default letter is a preset format, it'll literally say that they will default you in 14 days and the amount of arrears that you need to pay to rectify the default....

                      fook em, lol. Don't worry about it, send a gentle reminder with your offer and see what they come back - if anything - but whatever you do, do not send it until AFTER the default remedy date on the letter, you need it to get defaulted!

                            Not a sausage

                            I asked the ex if he has heard anything form them and he said nope just a statement which he has filed under "who gives a f*ck"

                            What do you suggest? just hang tight? Remember they are not sending me anything now it is all going to the ex - but I have the money to make the settlement with so I kinda have to work with him over this.

                              Hmmm, i'd just leave them to it. Forget working with him, cos you have made an offer he is best ignoring them and eventually they'll come back to you - ideally you want them to default the account and sell it on then you have better grounds to haggle etc....
