Connaught are a trading name of 1st Credit, so they would be passing it exactly nowhere.

They would be passing it to the desk which issues SDs just like Varde passed my MBNA debts to their in-house team Experto Credite who served me with a SD. And also the Lewis Group who passed my Santander debt to their in-house team Howard Cohen who issued me with a county court summons. Just because a creditor has an in-house litigation team with different headed notepaper that doesn't make a debtor immune from legal action.

They won't pass it anywhere cos I'll ask them to drop it and they will..... It'll be fine.

1st credit are one of the better DCA's especially when you tell them the faults. They will go back to the OC and ask them for an answer. A lot of other dca's don't even bother.

the letter states if we cant agree terms then they will pass the A/C to Connaught no deadline date was given.
I have received another letter from 1st Credit today dated 30/12/2013 "stating that we are not aware of any legally valid reason for non-payment of of the debit therefore we are considering SD". The letter also state that they are prepared to offer me a 5% discount to settle the debit which will be available for 21 days until the point that a SD has been issues by Connaught collection and if I don't respond to this letter I will be contacted by Connaught collection.

You can afford to relax for two reasons.

Firstly, that letter dated 30th December says they'll give you 21 days to consider their crap offer before Connaught will issue a SD which means that there will definitely be no SD issued before 20th January (if ever).

Secondly, that letter from 1st Credit is dated 30th December and your *prove it* letter arrived at their offices on 31st December at 8.08 am so it was written before they got your challenge to prove it. Read Deepie's posts if you don't believe me.

Of course they're hell bent on issuing a SD and we're hell bent on stopping them. I think you'll find we'll win because we normally do
