  • Marks and Spencers Christmas Food Order

Just before Christmas we ordered a few treats for over Christmas - the main bulk of our shopping we did at Sainsburys on the 23rd December and nearly everything we got had sell by/Best before dates of around 30th/31st December. Perfect - meant wouldn't have to brave the supermarket before then.

So I had ordered a couple of desserts from M and S and a Seafood platter/Salmon terraine - this was specifically for 27th when we had Mr Loo's Dad and step mum over. So we went on 24th to pick up our order - the desserts were BB dates from 28th/29th/30th and the platter......... 26th December......... and what use is that to me seeing as i want to use for my non meat eating in laws on the 27th..........

When i asked the girl did they have any with other dates on - i was told no that is the way it is.

Anyway i complained to M and S and they said in all their advertising literature it says if you order and pick up on 24th your food is guranteed until 26th and if you order and pick up food on 31st it is guranteed until 1st - so bascially your Christmas order is only for Christmas Day and boxing day if you are lucky - and New Years Eve is only up until New Years Day......

But............... in light of my complaint they are willing to send me a gesture of goodwill..... so lets see what this brings..........

    Its a picture a a seafood terraine with a B/B of 27/12

Its a bit crap to be honest, but if it been anything else other than seafood, I dont think one day would really have mattered, but fish can be dodgy.

I just spat my drink everywhere then!!!

exactly if was something else i would have taken a chance as most things are fine....

          I'll let you know!!!

Acutally the whole order was a bit of a waste of time as ended up with one dessert geting all eaten - second dessert - one big slice eaten - rest chucked - 3rd gave to my neighbour before it went out of date! what a complete waste!! Lesson to be learnt for next year!

              Should be ashamed of themsleves.

Think they need to get their SKATEs on or get back on the PERCH and stop CARPing on.

I'm leaving before I get used as a PRAWN in the battle.

I hated my mother-in-law so I would have taken the seafood platter and thanked M & S for making my Christmas a complete success
