Here are some of my successes essentially using cca requests and relevant responses. There were around 20 creditors and 50k of debt all now gone.

The free templates are here : https://all-about-debt.co.uk/forum/d...mplate-letters

If the process has changed why does never in doubt leave the template letters on the forum, why don’t the mods move them?

    Natwest
    Two cards
sent cca requests to NatWest, both came back with what were deemed EN agreement
Finally sold to Cabot so I sent two new cca requests- couldn’t fulfil. Telephone call caught me they closed both accounts , over 3k

    Halifax
    Sent cca request
    Came back UE
Told them but not what was wrong
    Never heard from again
    10K

    Asda
    Received a LoC
sent cca request almost by accident as I was just starting

    never heard from again

    MBNA
    loan 20k
    Sent cca request
looked ok but DNs were iffy

Did the rounds of debt purchasers and DCA
Sent a CPUTR letter- no they didn’t have the original

offers of discounts became progressively bigger
    now long SB

    MBNA credit card
    cca request
laughable response of signature box only

Cabot - without digging out the file I can’t remember
    cca request sent
we can’t find the documents so your account is UE

    Halifax current account
    lots of blagging
letter saying the time for a claim had passed- see current complaint to Intrum

Now I make it sound easy but it wasn’t. Lots of letters starting with I do not believe I owe you anything or similar. One said make me BR if you think you can - the threshold was much lower then. Now all long SB

I didn’t need a solicitor because I didn’t get a claim but get why people might.

Can't comment without fuller Diary details but these reveal earlier AAD practices which these days are not actually recommended.

Well they worked and who is it who says what is recommended?

The templates are still freely available to use.

The CCA 74 now 50 years old has changed over time.
look at the Letter Before Claim so called to help the Consumer but the DCA's now use the LBC for their own purposes don't they!

DEBT COLLECTION is a very lucrative global business.
Previous Tactics and growing CASE Law has changed over time, What once worked in prior years is simply NOT appropriate for NOW

SOME are not of much use now, but SOME can be,
The CCA request can still be used, and if anyone is able to look at the paperwork returned, reply can be suggested, not everyone can or wants to go through a solicitor unless they have to,

Let's be honest, No win, No fee. Isn't actually true, you do have to pay something, but it is pushed as an ideal to many.
Unfortunately those without anything in the coffers can get ignored and dropped like hot potatoes.
so left with no help at all, not even an explanation of how to negotiate a repayment plan on their terms.

          SO.
At the start just something to reassure them all is not lost is a start.
So a demand for a diary, in a commanding tone after the first post may be a little over the top for some, a GENTLE nudge is sometimes required.
          Slowly Slowly, catchy monkey.
          Preferably by the hand.
