Microsoft Office - lost disc

Well, I've just gone to load Office for Students onto my new laptop and the disc isn't in it's box. It'll turn up somewhere, but in the mean time I need to do some word processing.

So, is it possible to download a copy from somewhere, and if not is there a free word processing programme out there I can use in the meantime?

Abiword is good.

If you need spreadsheets etc then maybe look at Libre Office.

Alternatively try some online office suites such as Google Docs or Zoho Writer.

Thanks guys, although it turns out that my laptop has Microsoft Office Starter 2010, which is better than my old version. It was just hiding from me for a while. Wonder what other surprises it has in store for me...

(As you've probably gathered by now, me and technology don't mix. There's a reason I'm descended from luddites...)
