      I agree with what has been said - Nanna. Assuming you just use the computer to browse the web, type the odd letter etc, i'd be tempted to get some more memory for it.
      The Crucial memory scanner will tell you what memory you need - it costs a bit more than other retailers but i've never had any compatibility issues with Crucial so always considered worth spending the extra few quid to save hassle. Your call thou.

        I am still running an old Pentium 4 but with 1 gig ram, as a server, works great. Everything else is on windows 8. Ram is the only problem you have. Get 2 512's memory and old computer will work fine.

          Tell us the type of RAM - I have hundreds if 1gb sticks of various RAM modules.

          If I have any suitable I'll happily send you a 2gb pair for free

          RAM speeds up open applications and your desktop so it won't speed up the Internet per se but it'll mean when you open several folders at once it won't freeze on you
          I'm the forum administrator and I look after the theme & features, our volunteers & users and also look after any complaints or Data Protection queries that pass through the forum or main website.               Thats good to know E, Wish we had come back on last nite after the info given then i would have seen your post Nid. As it is we looked round for the sticks and found a pair of new ones on amazon, so ordered them but i am always cautious so we will see, if they have to go back for anyreason can i get back to you Nid?Thank you thats really kind.Pompey i have saved the link you gave us gratefull for that xxxx
