Which Kitchen Scales to Buy?
Well mine have finally given up the ghost, so looking for new ones, does anyone have any recommendations?

If I can join this banned thread - I got a set of digital ones from Lidl about 5 years back, apart from weighing solids it will also weigh milk and water in ml, a fiver when new - bargain.
p.s. I know I'm banned too

I like the old fashioned 'Libra' type ones with weights but I don't have the room to have them displayed nicely so bought a digital one from Tesco for around £5 does grams and ounces and the battery lasts about 9 monthsComment

oh, apparently they cost a bit more now.. but here is the one I have and it slots nicely into the cupboard when not in use... not sure why they show an example image of the scales with flour on them?? Daft.... one can put a bowl on the scales and then 'zero' them so one can weigh IN a bowl rather than butter and flour all over the shop...

I like them because they weigh in grams or ounces. When in grams they measure in 2g increments, which is great for things like baking powder/yeast etc. They also can be reset to zero whilst weighing, so you can keep zeroing to measure the next ingredient.
They are quite slim for storing when not in use too. If you can get a similar thing for less money (like the ones Patchouli recommends), go for it
