    Re: CKD/Neph App

Appointment with the nephrolgist went pretty well today. A female this time round.

I was told of my previous ultrasound scan that although there was no issues, but just different sizes to my kidneys, left about 10.2 and right kidney about 8.4, so yes the one is working harder than the other.

Some good news that there was no protein in my urine this time round, am so happy about that.

They are happy as long as we try to manage to keep stabilsing my kidney function at 3.
I was told its unlikely it will go back to an higher function by much, as damage cannot be undone on CKD, but function can improve so much, standing at the moment at 43%, it was 55% in Feb this year and from then on going down bit by bit. Still classed as stable at the moment though.

I had more bloods done again as they do for their records.
And I go back again on the 16th December, a week before Christmas (was not expecting to have another appointment until 3 months) but there we go, at least they are keeping a close eye on me I suppose.

Overall, a long but not a bad day.

Glad to hear that your kidneys have stabilised. Did you mention the blood?

          Thank you both!

Yes all mentioned, the blood too Cym, she explained it is common with the trace of blood at my stage and because my scans ruled major issues out, the only mention was the difference in sizes.

All in all its going well at the moment, fingers crossed xx

That time is approaching again for constant appointments.
Doctor's 2 weeks in a row, then 16th Dec the hospital appointment with the Nephrologist.

            Time have flown by.
However, in the future I shall be having all my results on any tests undertaken online as from my following appointment. I was send forms to complete in the post last week for Patient View (Renal Patien View) to complete and have a signature from one of the professional staff members to sign, so all results will be available online that same evening or the following day.
Very useful but do not want to become obsessed with being on it all the time lol.

I have been checking the demo on it for now, its very good, as letters from the renal team will be included on them too.

            https://www.patientview.org/

            https://www.patientview.org/demo.do

Better for me though because otherwise I go through days of anxiety.

Staying positive, despite the fact I was informed there is absolutely no such cure for CKD as dialysis and transplant is not even a cure but a treatment which may have to be repeated time and time again. Not letting it beat me though!

              Re: CKD/Neph App

Blood lab results back yesterday from family GP clinic, my kidney function numbers are the same as they were in Oct, so fab news, stable still at stage 3, and all other labs in normal range :-) Happy!

Nephrologist appt at my local hospital next Monday afternoon, more bloods, but I'm sure they will be happy as they were happy at my last appointment.
              Fingers crossed.

It's almost that time again for all the hospital and dr's appointments, I really cant believe where these 4 months have gone lol!

My hospital appointment is on the 14th April but prior to that I have to have lots of bloods done the week or so before.

I know one thing for sure though, I will never ever be discharged, but will eventually get used to it and still positive, okay there is no cure but there is hope
