The cook is making him a birthday cake as he is 81 Monday - we're getting all the grandchildren and great-grandchildren there to celebrate , that's so lovely them making a cake and i never even mentioned it they just do it for all the residents .

he has gone into a care home this morning for a week - he falls all the time now - fell this morning at 4 am had the ambulance . We think he might be going in permanently but seeing how his blood pressure settles but that's not the only problem he is wondering around all the time in and out of the chair to other rooms , the good news is that he has eaten a full meal today fish and chips and he hasn't eaten properly for a few weeks .

Its heartbreaking we promised him we wouldn't send him away and he was crying all night telling my mum please please don't send me away . The care home is beautiful and new build he has his own room with TV DVD Radio , there is a mat on the floor with a sensor so when he steps foot on it the carers are there so he doesn't fall .

We can sleep easy knowing he is in good care but our hearts are broken

thank you for asking means a lot xx

The Parkinsons meds haven't been changed its others for blood pressure cholesterol and the surgery is closed on a Saturday so can't ask them to fax the information . The chemist suggested a walk in centre as they have access to patients health so not sure what's happening now .

The doctor surgery should be able to fax a letter to the pharmacist informing them of the changes. I have a brilliant pharmacist and when I tell him about changes to my mums tablets, he gets in touch with the doctor (changes are normally made by the Parkinson's specialist) and ensures they are made as soon as possible.

I will do- just been to the chemist with the Navigo to try and sort his medication out , the chemist that did the prescription is closed now so we had to ask another chemist to identify what tablets he is to take but they won't take the responsibility its ridiculous so now I am trying to contact my brother who is off this week but doesn't want to be disturbed lol to phone my mum and talk to Navigo but he isn't answering his phone .

The chemist said ' oh I've never heard of a doctor stopping meds just like this i dont think its right' well sorry but we trust the GP who stopped them and he had his reasons and wouldn't have just stopped them - my dads blood is unstable in some way so the GP is trying to clear it i guess - I don't know I'm just guessing .

Hopefully someone will have the authority to say which medication he is to keep taking - it's ridiculous but also important .

We have reduced my mums Parkinson's tablets this year. It's quite common to do this.

Im glad your dad is getting more help. Make sure he gets everything he is entitled to!

thank you JLC - my dad has had an infection but they can't find out where - he has had 7 tablets taken off him and one of those is the statin - I am very pleased about this because I have heard personal experiences with statins and the side effects . Hopefully he will start to improve .

I hope your mum is doing okay she sounds like she is receiving good care and rightly so .

I wish him luck. I think it's the crp levels that show infection. My mum also has kidney and heart failure. PM me if you need any advice. I went through this two years ago. We now have a PA using direct payments. She is a godsend! I'm trying to get her hours increased.

my mums doctor visits at home or does a telephone consultation.

You know that if your mum and dad can't get out, or it's difficult, you can get the district nurse or matron out to take bloods. If my mum needs bloods taken, they come here. I struggle with my mum due to my joint and shoulder pain. The doctors and nurses visit her. The OT is coming next week to discuss getting a toilet seat that washes her after using the loo.

Just phoned my mum and she has to take my dad to the doctors today at 4 as his blood tests are not good - but she said ' our poor bloody David has to take us on his week off' I said you know what I'm so effing sick of hearing about poor old David and how he is so badly done to . She then defended him saying its his week off and she can't be doing with this arguing with her problems . I do agree with that but its taking the p**s each time poor old David has to do something like get in his car and drive them both for a coffee and cake and the doctors . My brother started all this he has manipulated this -but I'm not letting him . So hacked off right now .

My eldest brother only goes on a Sunday .

My brothers are the same. I get very little help from them. I've stopped asking now. We are lucky for them to visit once a month. I have six of them!

Re: My dad is really ill

My dad has had a full MOT the district nurse has been - the social services have been and someone is going in every morning at 9 to wash and dress my dad . They are being re-assessed and its happening quickly .

In the meantime me and my brother had a massive argument yesterday - my mum has to go to Castle Hill for chek ups on her pallett as she had cancer back in 2010, dad can't be left alone now so my brother agreed to go to my mums and sit with dad from 8.30-9.45 until me and hubby got there , yesterday was frosty so the car was frozen and we had to scrape the windows so we got there at 10. He had a face like thunder when we got there and he got straight up out of his seat and was about to go and i confronted him - he pointed his finger in my face and said i am a lazy cow and do nothing for our parents , he said its all about me me me , that really pissed me off so i yelled at him and swore which i am not proud of , but he turned his back on me so i went in the hallway and said how do you make that out that i do nothing , all you have done is sit here for one hour and your pissed off , he said he had a day off and wants to spend it with his girlfriend , he stormed off . in the meantime his son and daughter deleted me from their facebook in loyalty to their dad as they didn't liek the way i spoke to him lol.

I've since made it up with my brother and i have been this morning to do it all for my parents and as from tomorrow there is a carer going in to dress and wash my dad .

This is me me me the selfish daughter who does nothing lol, while at my mums my dear brother phones to see if they are okay - mum gets off the phone and says. He's okay he said he is spending the day with Kim and they're just going to do what they want and enjoy the day .

Yesterday was me and my husbands day off together but we sat with my dad for four hours until mum returned from hospital . Of course its all about me me me as you can tell i am really selfish and so is my husband who's own mum is very frail .
