Thank you my lovelies, and for sharing your experience of your own lovely children - that had gone through the same thing.

I've a feeling in Daniel's case it may be a genetic thing, his dad (my hubby Scooby) went through the same thing and was treated with all different stuff by GP, he finally grew out of it.

I suffered a little as well, but not that bad, more so on the month, (I think you know what I mean here ladies) LOL.

I know I shouldn't laugh but earlier sat in the world of my own, my son Daniel walked into the room, I suddenly looked up and thought it was halloween my son plastered his face in Sudo-Crem, in desperate measures, LOL.
I explained to him by trying too many different stuff can aggrivate the skin even more, but he said "its my body, leave me be" .

It did give me the giggles though, bless him lol

    di son also has asthma!
The good thing about Liz Earle is that it is all natural and the cleanser is removed with a muslin cloth which seems to scrape all the much off the skin.
All these treatments seem to make the skin worse for a few days before things start to improve; unfortunately those few days when a teenager is feeling desperate can seem like a lifetime.

Our DD2 suffers with spots and she is currently on Duac Once Daily gel and Lymecycline 408mg capsules which appears to be helping. The gp also advised her to get a facewash with Benzoyl Peroxide in and Boots sell panoxyl (strength 10) over the counter facewash and gel. The panoxyl facewash brought her face out a bit redder in the first couple of days but seems to be drying her skin and reducing the redness of the spots.

    Thanks for sharing this.

It seems then it works for some but not for others.

I will not be happy if they decide to prescribe this to be honest, more so due to his asthma, its a worry, and lots of side affects, more then the norm with other meds.

My son refused to use it because of the side-effects. He had an appointment with sk:n and we bought some stuff which may or may not have worked. We used this with Liz Earle's cleanse and polish and super concentrate as well as oxytet tabs and Duac cream from the doctors.
It took a while but he has virtually no scaring, his face is clear of spots though he still gets some on his back.
My GP mentioned the dreaded treatment and said that her daughter had used it successfully however, I know someone whose son's personality changed totally and now has no contact with his parents because he blames them for ruining his life because they let him use it. A minefield and a nightmare.
PS We also saw a dermatologist who said that as things were improving to carry on as we were.
