    Is think a bank? No.

It's a piece of shit account that scams the needy to line their own pockets.

Not when you have CIFAS - it is designed to stop exactly that happening! Hence the object of CIFAS, to stop auto renewals etc taking place!

It wasn't auto renewal, I went in and signed a new contract, not exactly when the old one was up but a few months later. Mobile contracts just keep going if you don't cancel them…
cifas category 01 is protective registration - no credit can be granted automatically whilst it is there or the consumer would not be liable, unless the lender first did the standard checks.

Whether the phone company do an actual search is irrelevant, the fact that SHARE/CAIS etc provide the lender feeds each month tells them there is a protective registration on the account holder.

I'm just saying, it is pointless risking a yea for a month - lets wait and see yea? It should go in month 13 ie between now and October.

Very patiently waiting still, not long to go. Was really excited about being able to upgrade my phone so gutted I have to wait for that. I keep checking my credit file daily to hope the CIFAS marker has gone!

Okay guys, just reordered my credit file today - and guess what, the fraud marker is still there. Sigh. Shall I send the letter now?

                    you need to contact CIFAS.

I would send a SAR to CIFAS - see here ---> CIFAS - Subject Access Requests

Then let us know what they have on their records.... the CRA is not always as accurate as CIFAS plus it's only the 15th, give it a week or so then apply to CIFAS - i'd say by the end of the month.

As for upgrading phone, sit tight - not long to go now....

So I'll send a SAR to CIFAS now and see what they say? Can't do this until the end of the month anyway because of the £10 charge. I'll sit tight then.

Yea send the SAR to cifas. No need to use our template just follow the guides on the link above. If its gone from cifas then great.

It's 13 months though from first entry. Remind me of the start date again please?

Ok it should be clear already (with cifas) at least.... The cra's are shit at the best of times so expect them to update it last. As I say, SAR CIFAS and let me know what that reads.

                              Alright will do.

Just to clarify. You expect it's been cleared by CIFAS, just not been updated by my CFA? So keep an eye on my credit file and then SAR CIFAS in the mean time to see what they've got on me?

Pretty much yes. That's what I think but they may have re-registered it in which case I'll try help you get it taken off via cifas.

Do the above. You're spot on
