You're in control here. Do as you suggest mate.

Ok, regards dca's - they don't link like that. Each account they buy (ie debt) gets allocated a reference.

It's nit like a bank where you have a CID (customer ID). Don't worry. Cabot won't be getting any of your cash mate.

    Update 30/08/11

After a quiet few weeks looks like DCA's are like buses, none then a few all come at once !

    Not all bad news though

    CapitAl One account
    - Now owned by Cabot but chased by sub contacted Apex Credit Management, nice letter received stating that following my recent correspondence informing them that the account was / is still in dispute with original lender "Capital One", my account has now been referred back to Cabot, and closed with Apex, and I will not be hearing anything from them again.

    BOS Marbles Credit Card
Notification from Cabot, to tell me they have bought my Marbles account off Bank of Scotland, included in the correspondence was a letter from BOS confirming Assignment of Debt.
I do have a letter dating back to July 2010 from BOS (Marbles) confirming they cannot supply my CCA, and therefore were prevented from seeking enforcement through the court.
So I will respond to Cabot with account sold whilst in dispute, and also attach a copy of the letter I received from BOS last year.

As an aside, just checking back through my files, and see Cabot now own three of my credit card accounts, Capital One, BOS Marbles, and Citi Card.
I wonder if they have linked me together on the accounts yet ? it's a bit worrying, because if it reaches a point of having to consider F&F offer on any of the accounts, I can't offer any F&F without including them all, and there is definitley not enough in the pot to do that right now !

    Co-operative Bank Credit Card

Passed to Equidebt in July, I responded to their first letter with Account in dispute ref. my CCA request.

Large envelope received to-day containing dozens of copies of my credit card statements dating back to 2004!
Accompanying letter states....there you are, we supply proof that you had this account and was paying it !!
I have never denied having the account, so not sure what they think sending all these statements will acheive..

I had dealings with Westminsters solicitors via RMA a couple of years ago - never responded to letters, never followed through with legal action.

September 28th - Letter from FTC ( part of Capquest Group.) in reply to my letter to them last week "Account in dispute with OC"
They state they have contacted their client (Capitol One), who confirm they have sent their "final response" to me, and have compiled with the S78 request. Therefore the balance is correct and should be settled.
Not heard anything from Capitol One for months, however today a letter arrived from a DCA - Apex Credit Management, stating they are acting on behalf of Cabot who have bought my debt off Capitol One Bank.

Apex suggest I get in touch as soon as possible as they can help me arrange a suitable repayment package to settle this debt.

Will respond with "Account sold while in dispute" letter.

I think you may just have hit a nail on the head!

If I had a pound for every letter I've had from solicitors threatening court action I'd be a wealthy man. Not once have I beein in a court other than as a witness or on jury service!

Well it didn't take as long as I thought for MBNA to re-assign these two accounts to another set of

This time they have been passed to Fredrickson International who have sent me two letters of assignment today, and the usual "pay up or else" in regard of each account.
I will fire off template letters of "Accounts in Dispute". Never dealt with this outfit before, so we will see how dogged this lot are at trying to wear me down....
As an aside, I have three accounts with MBNA, but they only seem interested in chasing these two, heard nothing in respect of the third account for months But I won't be reminding them about it any time soon...

caspar, I haven't heard anymore from Westminsters, maybe RMA / NCO just use them for follow up frightener letters to promote a response.
