Update 12-05-11
Egg Card...The End !
Well I've paid my F&F to ARC to close my debt to Egg. Logged into their online pay site, put in the account reference number and amount to be paid...pressed submit and....whoosh ..my bank account £2K lighter at the press of a button
I need a stiff onedrink !
But hey in the long run I can't really complain seeing as they wrote off the rest of the £10.5K balance.

Re: Alland UE Diary
I'd start at £1k moving up. But allan got a result here as 2k really isn't a lot when you think he did owe £10k!!

Out of interest Niddy, what would you start on for a 10k? Maybe 1k?Originally posted by Never-In-Doubt View PostWhat the hell was we chatting about then on PM? Haha
I am confused (quite easily done mate)! Well done though, its a great start and thing is lots of others will accept similar smaller offers if push comes to shove
Next time give me the heads up - cos £2k was a wee bit too high - no wonder they bit your hand off mate
......its just I have the whole identical EGG/arc thing at 10k also and there is only so long I expect I can keep batting them off!

Egg Card
Balance £10,336.92
Well a year to the day when I sent off for my first CCA request.
Letter received back from ARC Europe re my F&F offer of £2K to Egg.
" We refer to your recent offer to pay and confirm that we are willing to accept £2,000.00 to settle this debt.
Payment 1: £2,000.00 by the 16th May 2011.
Payment must be received at these offices by the due date, and for the agreed amount. The full balance will become payable if you do not keep to these agreed terms.
Following your payment your credit file will be updated to show this account has been partially settled, the balance will be brought to nil and you will not be pursued for any further monies for this account. "
Well what a result !........
Result - Well done!

Re: Alland UE Diary
Yes we did discuss it by PM mate, Egg was always one that didn't look like I would win UE on and I was just blagging it for as long as possible.
It was getting to look like the litigation process beginning, I think you suggested going in at F&F of £1,500, so it was my decision to go in at £2K
I didn't really think they would accept it, by the time ARC have taken their cut it won't be leaving Egg with much from the £10K debt. but hey, oh, I suppose they look at it that they have had a decent return on their outlay over the years, and they may has well finish off with getting a tax break on the debt now.
So yes, I will process the payment tomorrow to ARC and close the file on this one.
Thanks for all your advice mate ..

One down, but ready to continue the fight with the rest!

Re: Alland UE Diary
Was it the egg one that we discussed via PM and I was adamant to go for the £2k? I know we discussed it but can't remember how the £2k came cos usually i'd be looking to offer less than this for a £10k debtOriginally posted by alland View PostNiddy, Re Egg, result is an understatement mate, although being wary of DCA tactics, you think the letter from ARC will be legal enough to present to a court if they try anything later, or should I insist on written confirmation from Egg that this F&F will put it to bed.?
Re Cap one, OK mate will ignore Cabot for now and see how it proceeds.
The letter from arc is fine mate, it clearly says that they'll mark it partially satisfied and will not pursue any further funds. It also says they accept £2k in full and final - meaning that's it - done, dusted matey
