      I've never had a claim before... ..

      . . . . and breathe . . .

This is your hubby's ex MBNA credit card account which was opened in 2009. That may mean you can't play the *unenforceable* card in relation to the way the credit agreement was set out, but that doesn't mean the Claimant (Link) has got everything else right. They have to prove they own the debt for starters.

So one step at a time.

Email me the first page of the Claim Form (N1) without anything edited out. No one will see it except me and Jo (not even your hubby ).

You can break the news to him gently in a day or two when you know better where he stands legally speaking.

      There will be options.

Sorry to hear about the claim and the loss of your dog, a horrible time for you. As everyone has posted, the legal time is excellent and will sort out something to avoid a judgement against your husband.

you may have to wait a bit longer for the loan to come off your credit score as some company's only update every so often

Sorry to ask again but.... is there any way I can expedite the removal of the Loan debt from my credit scoring? I have a letter from Lowells saying they ave written it off and I owe £0.00

I'm trying to get a rental house and I am scared this will scupper us :-(

I am looking on Noddle though... is the info likely to be different on another one and if so which one should I check on?

Ahh I didn't see the dispute button on Noddle.... have disputed it.

you could write to Lowells and ask them to update your credit file, what date was it defaulted?, if not more than 6 years they won't remove the default but should update the balance to £0.00

I'm guessing rental agencies would use one of the bigger CRA though?

I think rental agents can only see so much and if they have updated the CRA to 0.00 you should be fine.
