Here I am
I'll read back through the history of this Barclaycard before suggesting the next step for your Hubby.
You've got 30 days from the date of that Letter Before Claim to respond (or not) so no need to rush it. In some circumstances it's better to ignore it, in others that would be a disaster. We'll see.
The account will have vanished from your credit file if was defaulted more than six years ago so the whole entry disappears on the sixth anniversary.
The Default Notice will matter (to them!) so do you know if one was received and if so was it from Mercers who were involved at one point?
We (Jo + me) favour box D (dispute) but don't tell them why in case they remedy the problem. Asking for documents only gives them the opportunity to go looking for them or reconstitute them which is what you don't want to happen.
(I hope your new Landlord is better than your last one . . . )

Hi Patch,
am not up to speed on the new way of doing things, that is why I said contact Di as there are different ways to answer them( she is back on here, but not all the time) I think you say you are disputing the debt but DO NOT tell them what it is you are looking for, If there is a request for information about the debt, tick that box, don't rush you have till 2nd week in Feb.
I think they have to disclose all the paperwork they will rely on if they continue to court,
they have 30 days to send it to you

As for the Letter of Claim... Should I tick box D - I dispute the debt and send a cover note stating that I am waiting for a reply to my CCA missing PT and SID letters dated 2015...

This is odd.... I just looked on Hubby's Noddle report and the above card isn't listed on there.
However his MBNA card is as default and we paid a Solicitor, Joanne Connolly?, ages ago to sort this out so I am not sure what is happening! *scratches head*Last edited by patchouli; 26 January 2018, 14:44.

Hello!!!
Oh my goodness I haven't been here for so long!!! You've gone all red and blue!
Well we had a horrible couple of years, living in a nasty house with a nasty LL and moved in to this house last October.
I guess it's taken the DC's a while to find where we vanished to and was greeted by a letter for Hubby's Barclays CC this morning from Howard Coh£n.
I'm a bit rusty on all this now so not sure if I should smile and file or send some letters out like LBA ?
Your advice, as ever, is greatly appreciated.
