The thing with this particular account is that I'm sure at least 50% of the balance is due to charges applied by SD before they sold it (as is the case for all my SD accounts).

How anyone can charge because they were unable to contact you by telephone is unreal, but this is the sort of charge that they applied to my account!

        Hi All

Letter from Wescot received today. You're going to love this, pay particular attention to the arrears value. They actually sent me this (where they printed in bold I have also - just so you can see the dramatic effect!

        Dear Mr SnV

We have written to you on a number of occasions regarding the arrears now outstanding on the agreed repayment plan and you have failed to respond. The arrears value is currently
£0.00 and has reached a stage where additional action is now required.

As a final attempt to avoid a doorstep visit we are prepared to offer you a discount to settle your account.

This matter cannot remain outstanding any longer. This is your final opportunity to avoid referral to a Door Step Collection Agent.

Contact us immediately in order to stop your debt going to a Door Step Collection Agent and to discuss your available options:

        1) Agree a discounted settlement
        2) Clear the arrears on your current repayment plan
        3) Agree an alternative repayment plan

To prevent further action please call us on 0844 251 1050

          Quality!

According to Wescot my arrears value is currently zilch!

I will therefore select option 2) from their generous list of options!

                    Hi All

Big week this week, several responses to creditors. Most have been of the 'please accept a 6 month payment break' format, but I gave Wescot a doorstep response letter and one of Niddys overdraft CCA specials so will be interesting to see what they make of that.

Wescot have come straight out the gate offering yet another 'settlement figure' so depending on how things go I'll start with a 5% offer and take things from there on trying to get a F&F settlement.

                    Will keep you all posted!

                        Hi FP

Sorry perhaps I have interpreted the last payment thing - I thought this was the last 'contractual' payment as opposed to last DMP payment (which is less than the contractual amounts).

I think I will update my diary to make this clearer

But last payment was only a couple of months ago so SB clock isn't an issue here but thanks for the warning!

But yes, even a £1 payment would reset the clock.
Yes 2010 was my last full payment, that was after I had struggled for over a year robbing Peter to pay Paul and getting myself deeper and deeper into the mire until I decided enough was enough.

I started my DMP in August 2010 but have decided after 2 years of hassle, interest and charges still being applied, threats of my doorstep being collected because I didn't increase payments on review, increasing costs such as food, fuel, insurance costs, it was getting to a point where I was prioritizing my DMP payment over my mortgage.

So I have decided on trying the UE journey with the goal to getting as many accounts as UE as possible, or getting creditors to accept F&F offers.

                          At least thats the plan

I am now saving the money each month that was making little difference to the balance and not a bit of difference to my credit file as a result of finding AAD.
