    Re: Terrified of Ruthbridge

    mikeb,

Well done m8 you have found the right place and good olé niddy has replied so you are now in good hands.

I will not offer advice myself as you are already getting it from the good folk who have posted above, however I say again do not get stressed over this as it is just not worth it you life is far more important.

You have found a good crowd of people who have all been through the same and many of those are seeing results.

I was taken to court after MBNA turned down my offer of £50 and was told to pay £20 a mth on a 6.5k debt by the judge and this came with no terms to increase so what I am saying is it's early days with much to gain with the right advice.

    Regards

      Hello MikeB.

Don't worry. My wife passed away a couple of years ago, and I also suffer depressive episodes, so I understand your concerns. I have a lot of debt written off because of those little cheeky monkeys in the so called "industry" of Financial Services not being clever enough to have the right paperwork!

Listen to Niddy and the rest of the good advice on here.

Today, I got a letter from some clown at Westcott. I actually got excited, as I've never pissed those particular thieves off, so looking forward to it!.

      Chin up.
[]Remember. Everytime a Soldier or Policemen loses thier job, everytime a school can't afford a book, everytime a streetlight has to be turned off - a bankers greed, incompetence and ineptitude played a large part. In Financial Services?, in a Bank? Then think on....you are helping this process along....

          Hi MikeB

You were PM'd with good advice!

Reading through that thread OTR, with the exception of a couple of posts, many of the responses are questionable.

You should never respond to a fishing letter, not with a 'prove it' letter, CCA request, SAR, SB letter or similar.

Ruthbridge have given you no reason to respond with any of these things. Before you even bother with the effort of the time and the cost of postage they need to provide the following:

          1) Reason for contact
          2) Details of an account
          3) Details of an outstanding balance

When they finally send you a letter with something tangible you can respond accordingly but not before!

          Best

It would certainly be most improbable if not actually impossible for a DCA to have a document not possessed by (nor transferred from) the original creditor.

One could send them a copy of the letter from the Mafia Bank of North America and tell them that, as no agreement exists, the alleged debt is and remains unenforcible. Depending on how one likes to play with such buggers, one could merely type one's name, or use a hand writing font for one's signature, or get a friend to sign one's name; if they "get creative" and cobble something together that they claim is a signed agreement, one would then be able to claim in court - should they be daft enough to take it to court - that it is not one's signature on the agreement and that the DCA seems to be depending upon a forgery.

On what grounds did the oafs say they'd do that?

                    Did you report that crime?

I actually would`nt mind being deported. Miami would be nice; Ive always fancied New Zealand or maybe the British Virgin Islands.

I doubt that the location was named after its occupants.

It certainly wasn't mate! The BVI is a nice place but not one where I could live. The grass airfield is on a little island served by a rickety suspension bridge of indeterminate age and the airline which serves the islands of the area is called L.I.A.T. Known to those of us who have had to work there in the past as :-

                            "Leaves Island Any Time"

Still the sun shines and the trade winds blow every day on time so justification of an incompetent Metereology Office is not needed.

Unlikely then that Ruthbridge "doorstep agent" will show up there then ??

I was wondering what would be the best course of action when the next letter arrives, open it and post it here or just wriye "RTS" on it and send it back to them ???
