I wrote the initial letter for BM on 14th Jan ---> allaboutFORUMS - View Single Post - Unenforceable CCA with Very catalogue, help needed

They replied in May - so not that long really....

Doesn't matter and it's unlikely that you signed one - not many did if taken out prior to 04/2007

still don't worry, lets get the agreement and see what happens - yea? Just stop paying, ignore the phone and let us know what comes in the post (threat wise) whilst you await the agreement.

Just to update everyone - well not really an update as such, I've been having problems with my printer so not been able to print off the template letter yet. Fingers crossed it should be by the end of the week. On a positive note I've had no phonecalls or letters yet though so that's good.

                    Re: Debt with Very.

                    Hi,

From my experience with this group, a CCA request is a good start. Then see what comes back.

They generally refuse to accept lower payments, then pass you to NDR (internal collections) who are utterly useless and refuse to negotiate. I gave up and let them sell it to Capquest as my account was so old there was no chance of a valid agreement.

                    Good luck

                    HB

Well I spoke too soon, I had a letter from the arrears dept yesterday, but my printer is now up and running so I've sent the CCA request off complete with a £1 postal order. Now the waiting game.
Thank you to everyone for the words of encouragement, I don't feel like I'm doing this alone.

Up to you Sophie, but most scan the letters, open in Paint (i assume you are a Windows user!), edit out personal details and upload to the thread for others to advise/benefit from.
You could also type up the content if you haven't got access to a scanner.

Excellent. You may be pleasantly surprised that not much does come back - if anything

This is the amazing thing about AAD - none of us are alone, because not only is there a vast amount of information for dealing with maggots like this in the threads, you normally receive a personal answer pretty quickly too.

                        All the best with this!
When Gold isn't enough, there is SA Gold! New to the forum and find the UE route a bit scary? Take a look at my diary here and judge for yourself. I am now saving the money each month that was making little difference to the balance and not a bit of difference to my credit file as a result of finding AAD.

Hi missy, I don't have a scanner but here's what it said.

                          YOUR ACCOUNT IS IN ARREARS.

                          Dear xxxxxx
                          Account summary
                          Arrears £102.08 due immediately
Next payment. £112.32 to reach us by 07 June 2013

Your account is in arrears and any future orders you place are likely to be cancelled. You also run the risk of adversely affecting your credit rating.

Please be aware,if you do not bring your account up to date immediately, a further administration charge of £12 will be added to your balance. Also, any special interest rate offers that you have on charged items may now have been disqualified.

I would advise you to contact our payment helpline if you are having difficulties paying.

                          Yours sincerely.

                          Maria Marsden.
                          Arrears manager.

That was it, apart from asking me to set up a direct debit to make sure I don't miss payments in the future.

                            Hi Sophie,
That's cool, just ignore them now you've sent the CCA request.
The sooner they default you and terminate the account, once they realise you're not going to pay, the sooner the interest and charges will stop.

Right, update guys, not good news.
I received my CCA from Very and it seems I did sign it after all so I'm now stumped as to what to do next.
