If I was you I'd change card and stop paying. That's what I'd do.

If and when they write, post here and we'll help with responses etc.... You need to get defaulted ASAP (so stop paying) then 6yrs later your credit file will be clean. Pointless dragging it out with a dmp.

lol! Thank you! I am so glad I found you!

Ok, I have a shot credit history now anyway! So I need to think what would be my best option. I would love to buy a house by the time I am 40 with my wife, which gives me 5 years to get a mortgage! What would be my best option: -

Change debit card and not pay them?

Get on a DMP, but will this not effect my credit rating long term? (WHo do I talk to about an DMP?)

Or see if my relative can get a loan at a hign APR but that is lower than the APR on my curret debts (Lowest APR is 38.9%) and if so where will I be able to get this loan?

    Thanks

They will bark and make threats but that's all. If for any weird reason they took action then you

    A) come to a monthly agreement or;
    B) fight it with help from our solicitor Paul

However you'll get hassle from dca's that's about it. What you aim for is statute barred so basically ignore the buggers for a few years!! Or as I say don't pay for 3-4 months and save like mad then we can try help negotiate F&F offers to settle for less than the original sum borrowed. Or let's get you on a dmp paying £1 per month forever lol.

Upto you really. We'll back you no matter what you decide.

    Ok,
So let me get this straight! If I get a new debit card and not tell them of the change, the loan firms won't be paid! What right to the have to taking me to court/getting baliffs etc? and then whether I pay them or not after 6 years will these be written off or will they still be chasing me?

Thanks, I am feeling better about things already!

Only for 6yrs which is what'll happen regardless....

Or consider trying to dmp them with freeze of interest..?

Ok, If I ignore them though! It will clearly eefect my credit rating for like ever and they will always be on my back won't they?

Again thanks for all the advice people.

Hiya - you don't need a lawyer. Don't know where that came from

Why not just ignore them? There really isn't much they can do other than call or write - both easy to ignore. Nothing is making you repay these debts... So why do it?

At least it wasn't a shotgun engagement.

Guys thank you for all your help so far and just for the record I cannot afford a lawyer.
Fiddlesticks. You don't need to pay anything for help from the duty lawyer at your local Citizens' Advice Bureau - link to find where that is.

    Hi there!

I have 4 Payday loans (I know things have got that bad): -

    (All this are aprrox)

    Wonga
    Loan £1400
    Owe £1650
    Been paying off!

    Paydayuk
    Loan £450
    Owe £429
Been paying interest and defering each month.

    Pounds to Pockets
    Loan £800
    Owe £1750
Been paying a set monthly amount.

    Choice Fiance
    Loan £450
    Owe £645
Will more than likely defer this one to and just pay interest.

Guys thank you for all your help so far and just for the record I cannot afford a lawyer. As I said a relative has offered financial support but they have a bad credit file from a while ago and cannot get good APR quote!

    Thanks

    Name of PDL -
    Original Loan -
    Balance now Due -

Reply with the above then we'll try and get you sorted on the straight and narrow, also can you clarify if you're rolling them over, paying on time or just not paying because chances are you may need to get a new card to stop the future payments (basically ring your bank and say your bag/wallet was stolen so can you have a new card - this generates a whole new card number thus stopping the CPA to the PDL)...
That's one way to do it.

Another would be to write to the bank, withdrawing your consent to the transactions, under section 55 (link) of the Payment Services Regulations 2009.

Under section 63 (link) of those same Regulations, the bank may have to refund monies paid over the last eight weeks if you can shew that more money was extracted than you had authorised or if the sum to be taken had not been exactly specified at the time the authorisation was given.

Needless to say, most banks would prefer their customers not to know about this.

Let us know and we'll then be better placed to help, obviously don't write back quoting Arkell v Pressdram, not wise
Apart from telling the sods to bugger off, can you think of a more forthright way to express one's disapprobation of their usurious antics?
