HA's like Marches and Severnside (another local SHL) have DD's or rent payment cards (I hate all forms of these type of cards as they waste so much time queuing up to make use of them)

Although i will be insisting on using SO's for everything that i can. So much easier.

Being male that tends not to be an option unfortunately.

I don't mean to cause you offence....

But, you may loose the battle you won't loose the war!

I remember the story of a man who was accused of a crime he did not commit. He had a stark choice; he was remanded in one of Pakistans most notorious prisons (central Prison) and when he got his day in court, after suffering terrorist style torture, he could plead guilty and walk away having done time served or not guilty would earn a 7year stretch.

He chose not guilty and got 7 years.

    Dilemmas dilemmas.

My point here is that I'm not going to say what to do cos you're a grown up. My point is to let you know that sometimes, just sometimes it's best to lose the fight but win the battle. Most people in your shoes, with a small child, would do anything to ensure their home was never compromised.

Your pride therefore must take second place.

Do not be an Erik Aude; instead be a man and stop this nonsense and protect your family. Think what this is doing to them....

I think you are missing the point; yes things may have been handled incorrectly but you need to look at the bigger picture. It would not be an admission of guilt just being practical. If you could settle your finances with the HA then court action would finish and you could follow through with the ombudsman. That way you would hopefully be in a position to find a more suitable place, continue your battle and hopefully win.

Jen & FP you both seem to be saying that I should let it lie but of the show had been on the other foot would they have let a mistake by me lie? No as proved by the fact that they wouldn't negotiate any goodwill gesture on the RA's after their mess up.
Its not about making a point it's about not being walked over like trash because they think they can. It's as simple as that.

Sometimes things in life don't happen in the right order, but if that money would give you a fresh start than it's got to be worth considering this option
unfortunately i believe that the offer is no longer available and if it was i would still be pursuing against the HA as dont feel i should have to be paying now for their mistake.

If it had been my mistake then as said i would have had to pay for it in O/D fees at the time. And would have happily paid them so why is it not the same for the HA??

I agree with the amount of arrears since May 21st (when i was dismissed) but prior to that i feel that it was the HA's actions(or lack of) that caused the arrears to build up. They disagree however and Housing Ombudsman wont intervene due to court action so it seems it will only be settled in court.

We've seen a load of properties we would have loved to move to with other HA's but have been unable to due to this current predicament.

Because if you don't like them and they don't like you (ASB issues) then it could be a Win Win situation all round
