If you've ever tangled with the French documentation you'll see they don't bother with any 'English' versions ...If you can't sort it out you get someone to help if you are that keen to progress with whatever you are doing....

    France...speak French

    England...speak English

    Germany...speak German

    etc etc

says it on the tin...not difficult is it ?

I've heard it's the same in India, where they speak so many different languages, Indians often have to speak English between them, because they can't speak each other's dialects.

Everyone else in the world is learning English, especially now with the internet and international business, in the meantime, in Britain, people are being discouraged from learning English! How ironic.

London is becoming more and more like the US cities with little pockets of people who never integrate. Speaking the language is the first step towards successful integration. Having things translated into their own language, and often even read aloud to them, doesn't help when they have to deal with things outside their own area.

Can remember back in the late 80s a certain country was contemplating to use one main language for everyday use as there were 5-6 dialects on the go, a reporter reported an incident that took place on a vehicle, = 5 people spoke in different dialics, "What happen during the journey was"= a young lady was climbing on board the vehicle, the driver pulled away quick = she slipped and hurt herself in an unmentionable place, she shouted at the driver = you stupid son of a bitch! what happened next 4 of the 5 people who could understand the dialic she used as it was so near their own laughed - the one person whose dialic the country brought into use was the least known sat there not knowing what was said anf the laughter was for.

Although not directly related to bedroom tax as such, I work in publishing for local autorities and the NHS and it's shocking to see how much money they spend on translations catering to specific communities, especially at a time when so many cuts are being made and so many people are losing their jobs.

You would think they would spend the money organising free English courses instead of having everything translated into Urdu, Somali, Polish, Nepalese, etc. Some were thinking about translations into an exotic Nigerian dialect.

We are all for equality but there are hundreds of languages spoken around the world and you can't translate everything into every language, that's just totally impractical, especially when people are being left without benefits or housing due to lack of fundds.

The problem with education as I see it is too much Government and managerial intervention as the teachers and the pupils have nothing to aspire too as the rules, grades and exams are constantly changing year on year.

Bloody hell childrens claims and the kids are in Poland? So much for fair play = a British Citizen who may be fighting to get his wife & family into this country 20 years ago could not claim for a child unless they were actually in this country only then by chance I was told had to pre register the child before entry clearance but if I lost court cases then no allowance for that child, after winning battles they arrived and was payed out fron day of entry to UK from the far east. I was lucky to have found out about pre registering a child, one lesson is make sure the child born overseas is registered at the local British Embassy, no doubt being British the old rule still stands as outside E.U.?

Also registering birth of children born overseas you can up to 12 years old (was then you would need to check), some embassy paperwork I found out at the time was incorrect, a person who issued directive after Foreign Office/local MP intervention actualy signed a Birth Certificate for my daughter and a lot of others who I had brought to the Foreign Offices attention, it can be a minefield, I found lack of correct info which makes obsticles in your way all the way, my wife was 3 months preganant and had to go thru more interviews at British Embassy after initial refusal under "The Primary Purpose Rule" and told to kepp coming back, after 3 days of sitting around told to go away no interview that is the way the staff treated foreign people, unless you were one of the many awaiting visas to Hong Knog and the cost was great, no wonder they had priority, = just another money making racket that was>

Not just universities.... the Gov. have actively mask the true unemployment figures by raising the school leaving age and/or, shoving kids on all kinds of useless courses to keep them off the stats. The stats only reflect those claiming JSA anyway; not the host of other Benefits, including Income Support, etc. I'm wondering how they're going to get round this when Universal Credit kicks in though....

Precisely.... they just think we're all stupid.

I think theres a lot of good points but also a lot of bad ones.

You cant blame the polish for doing anything other than what they are allowed to do, you have a problem with it? get government to change the system.

A lot of our housing, employment, NHS, issues are ALL because of the EU free movement, and while other countries continue to be intergrated in to the EU it will only get worst.

Yes we could stop giving hand outs all the time, but if we didnt have the influx of EU migrant workers this wouldnt be a problem.

The media and government like to portray a picture of trying to stop migrants in an effort to curb spending money on non british people. The truth is this bollox.

The number of non EU migrants are nothing compared to the hundreds of thousands of EU migrants living in this country and set to continue to com here. Non of which this governement can do ANYTHING about unless we step out of the EU and stick two fingers up at the unaccountable EU parliment.

Im sorry, but we can rant and rave as much as we like, but nothing will change until we kick everyone out who shouldnt in reality be here.
