They never asked me if it was ok, they told me they'd given it and I threatened legal action (yea I threatened the FOS with action) in line with CPR etc based on the fact they had no sound legal backing in which to authorise such a delay. As the FOS explained, that my refusal to grant an extension, by my refusing all it'd do is delay things longer as when it goes to the actual Ombudsman they would automatically request a response from Opus; ergo to grant a 1 week extension now is the right thing to do because when I do refer it to the Ombudsman, they will have Opus's reply so can assess it quicker.

I have already rejected the offer based on the fact they are using the wrong amounts, I want the middle to higher rate compo not the lesser on (ie less than £300) bearing in mind the hassle and late payment markers/refusals etc lately.

I am looking at between £1,000 - £2,000 in distress plus any financial consequential losses as a result of them posting inaccurate and illegal data about me via a third party, ie the CRA.

My payments are not in arrears, as I have a valid DD in place and always have, just the bank do not take the payments - why? Well ask them, is what I told the FOS!

Perhaps, as a team-bonding exercise, the Fundamentally Ornamental Service could actually try running a piss up in a brewery?

I am a nasty bastard, that is what this is about. Fighting for you guys is fun, when it's myself it really irks me so I go for the jugular from outset - I lead them into mistakes then use those mistakes against them.....
My kind of man hehe this is exactly what I did with the co-op challenged every detail in the letters they sent me then sit back and watch them dig a bigger hole.

It does not take a lot neither purely because of there lack of inter-departmental communication.

I did point out on one letter that I ran a consumer debt forum, and put this link here - yes. However I doubt they'd want to deliberately fight me as it was a lose/lose for them from day 1 - all this is doing is highlighting their inability to conduct business in accordance with their consumer credit licence thus the formal complains seeking resolution over future conduct will be dealt with upon FOS resolution. There is a process to follow, one step at a time - this is just the start for me..... I have a long way to go with this yet, as I have maintained - it's not about the money, Jesus I lost £250 on red (roulette) a month ago - it's hardly gonna break my bank
