That score (scumbags, nil; decent society, minus one) suggests that the scumbags would have won.

As your location is "in bed" perhaps you have missed something, CleverClogs. Of course it is possible that the video footage was not taken at the time of the riots; however, there have been rampages, shootings and lootings throughout the day and night, not just after dark.

Whenever the video may have been shot, surely it doesn't make it any less shocking.

Assuming you meant repealing the Human Rights Act, it would have very little effect; it would only delay claims being made as they would have to be submitted to the European Court of Human Rights.

Then there would be the effect on the UK's relationship with the rest of the EU.

they are talking about using plastic/rubber bullets, I think they could do a lot of damage to young kids, massive potential for all sorts of claims, get rid of the the acts first, then it needs to be sorted out fast. then they could look at bringing back a properly discussed replacement.
    How about repatriating the rioters?

    Re: Where is Cameron

I remember that well Garlok - I used to live there not too long ago. I agree about the change in society and human rights. I also take the opinion that one should only be entitled to rights if one is aware of the responsibilities which go with those rights. As soon as you act against those responsibilities, you should also lose the rights in my opinion - hence my comment about Singapore earlier in the thread - in Singapore if you steal something you get your hand cut off. Ask most of the people who live in Singapore if they live happy lives and most will say yes as they feel safe and secure.

I'm not saying everyone caught in these riots should have their hands cut off in public, but there is an element in me that agrees with this sort of punishment to a degree for those who have forfeited rights as they have not lived up to responsibilities.
