Now I know this is a known prob (from just a quick google) and like I know that in the US Macbooks with certain serial numbers (distributed between certain dates I think) can get it fixed for free...

Something about a warranty or something...

Any idea if it applies over here? I have the flu today so no point in even phoning up the mac store

give you local apple store a call i think thats still sortable under a recall.
